Chapter 29: To You IV

"Kyouhei, what are you doing here?"

"Hm? I should be the one asking you that. Sigh. Well I came to get you. Hikari and Mizuki were looking for you."

"Ouh. I see... I.."

"I get it, you want some time alone, don't you?"

When I think about it, that guy had always been the one to understand people the most. Maybe it was because of his intelligence? I am not sure....

"Wait."

"Hm?"

"Wait. I... I..."

"Sure. I'll stay here for awhile. But I'll have you know that if Hikari and Mizuki starsts nagging, I'm blamimg you."

"Thanks."

He also had always been there when I needed him. I guess it's because of him being older, but I had come to rely on him all the time. He is like my big brother.

"Say, Kyouhei, do you think that I am born to be cursed with misfortune? I.. I had been thinking.. I.."

"That's quite a foolish thought."

"Never pulling the punches, huh?"

".... are you having nightmares?"

"......... yes."

"I see."

All three of them knew about what had happened to my parents but the only one that I had told my loneliness and problems to was Kyouhei alone.

"It had been getting more frequent. Every night, when I sleep, I would dream of nothing but darkness. It was scary and cold...and lonely.... I was so afraid. It felt as if I had nothing. My parents are dead and my big sister is away....I... I..... I.. I.."

"So you really do have trouble sleeping. That explains why Mizuki said you looked kinda tired earlier. Even now you look tired."

"Mizuki did?"

"Yeah. Your crush has been looking after you almost all the time. Isn't that good?"

"S-shut up! Gee. I regret telling you almost everything about me."

"Not almost,but all."

"Hmph."

"Sigh. Even when you had all the time to sleep in class, you still look sleepy."

"I'm not you. I don't sleep in class."

"Sigh...Hm? The wind today is nice, huh?"

"....That seems rather odd for you to say."

"Is that so? What I'm implying is that this would be a perfect time to catch up to those sleep hours you've lost."

"But we still have clas-"

"The teachers won't mind us skipping classes."

"That only applies to you, since you are a genius. Not me."

"Suit yourself."

"You sure are carefree. Suggesting to skip classes just like that.."

"Carefree? I doubt it. I'm not Hikari."

"..... in any case, I doubt that I could sleep here. What if I..."

"Relax, you won't have those nightmares."
