It was not like I was being paranoia. Not at all. But as the days continue to pass, more and more stronger, the feeling of dread inside me grows. I know that I usually ignore the voice od my heart and would eventually regret doing so but just for this one time, I wish that the voice if my heart was only telling me lies. The fragments of terror flashing in my mind was nothing but illusions toying with my sanity.
"Hey, Mei."
"Oh? Kyouhei-kun. What are you doing here?"
"What do you mean what am I doing here? It's my club, right? All the more reason for me to be here.."
"Ah! That's not what I meant! It's.. it's just, it's way too early for your usual arrival time."
Following her eyes, I looked at the watch and notice that I was actually really early than usual. Then it came to me. Unlike the usual, I did not went to buy a drink at the vending machine today. Great. I have been too caught up with my mind lately.
"Hm. Oh well. It's not that bad of a thing anyway. Why don't you have a seat?"
I looked over to Mei as I walk to my seat to see her writing diligently on a familiar looking thick notebook. Ah, I remembered. Mei is the one in charge with the storybook now. I have finished mine so it was normal for Mei to have it since in a way, she is vice president...
Mei did not seem to notice my gaze on her as she continue to write down on the book with a smile on her face.
It feels weird. Really. The fact that it is just me and Mei right now. It feels as though it feels right. The two of us, silently passing our time in this clubroom. I gaze outside the window and to the sky. My mind was entirely blank as of then. It was crystal clear. Only the sound of scribbles and the ticking of the clock echoed in my mind.
Quiet. Accompanied by the calm and cool wind blowing from the window, I felt my eyes dropping bit by bit and the next thing I know, everything had turned dark.
Cold.
It felt like something cold was poking my cheeks.... it still kept on coming. I could still feel the poke.
Opening my eyes, albeit slowly, I let the light blind me a bit and once my eyes had adjusted to it, I looked to the source of the poking to see a girl with short brown hair and was wearing a white dress. My mind immediately registered that she is the girl at the beach.
And my mind also registered that she did disappear into thin air so suddenly. Much like that of a ghost. Immediately, my cowardly side took control and with a jolt, I stood up from my chair. Which of course, ended in failure as panic had driven my balance to instability when standing up resulting me falling down from the chair instead of standing up.
"Oh? Didn't know you would react like that. Hihi."
"Wha-"
Before I could continue my sentence, I realised something and quickly whipped my head to the side. My eyes widen in shock when I failed to see Mei at her place. Instead, the notebook was there still in place.
"If you are looking for the girl, she's not here. Not anywhere."
"What did you do to her?!"
With much venom in my voice, I glared holes into the girl but she looked unfazed and instead had a forlorn smile on her face. Those lifeless eyes of her were saying
'Ah, so that is how it is.'. However, all this was quickly replaced with an eye-closed smile which any idiot could tell that it was fake."Are you really sure that you should be worrying about her? Out of all people?"
"What are you trying to-"
