Serah POV

"Shut the fuck up. And I'm sure everyone around heard it."

And that was unexpected.

"So you mean, you can hear my thoughts."

My arms crossed in frustration, should I be happy that my prayers were heard or was it a goodbye to my privacy.
I sighed confused by the turns of event.
Jay reflected my thoughts as if he still didn't believe his ears.

"No, I can't, no one can unless you let them in, and this, what happened, you projected your thoughts at everyone around."

My palm faced Jay, gesturing him to stop.

"Wait, wait, you mean everyone around heard."

"Couldn't you see. They all had their eyes on you, when you cursed out of nowhere."

I paused, my body tensed and his statement, provoked a mirthless laughter coming out of my tight lips. They were already looking at me with those eyes.
Jay was already sat and I lowered myself so my eyes could convey the preview. My hands joined together and I decided to be civil.

"Jay, why don't you ask me why I cursed."

The calm ocean became agitated nearing a dark navy.

"I apologise, I should have asked first. What happened, for you to project these words."

I gulped at how calm his voice was, but at some point, I knew we still had things to sort out and communicating was the first step.

"Since we arrived on the territory, my senses had been enhanced, the sounds, the colours, the vibrations, everything seemed so vivid.
And when the crowd became closer, my head was filled with their thoughts, it was loud, indistinguishable, and mostly, I had a vague idea of their thoughts.
Quite the same, no originality.
So I wanted silence, and I prayed for it, but I didn't think I'll intrude everyone's mind after."

My long monologue was followed by a peaceful calmness.

"So now you can possibly mind link-"

"Yeah, I can mostly communicate with Kamil but he doesn't hear my thoughts though, I mean, I have lycan blood, there is no big deal about it."

"Serah, communicating with several wolves like that require more than a few drops from your grandfather, even betas have their limit, but you just shouted orders to everyone without any link with them, even if we're mates, until we mark each other you are not connected to any of them."

Weirdly interesting, that would explain why lycans were above the food chain, just a hint of these genes in your cells and you get superpowers.

"Jay, let's not dwell on this, I will have the answers soon enough, I don't need to have any more cumbersome mysteries in me head."

He nodded.
A great few minutes passed. I could almost see each grain of sand, as the time took it sweet time to flow.
The akward silence was broken, when he decided it was time to take out his laptops.

"So, when it's this meeting."

Now, I could hear the wind pass by.
He made me wait until he completely logged in.

"Serah, I would need to brief you in so their won't be any conflict between us. This meeting is about Ice Moon revealing the underground passageways to the neighbouring packs. To say less, it would be chaotic, some would want to claim Ice Moon as unfit to be part of the alliance, some would take advantage of this incident to try to shake Asar in his position. Many things could happen.
Moreover, the passages do not respect the territorial limitations, they intertwined even between geographically separated packs.
The good thing for us, I mean you and Red Crescent, only the passageway of our packs are connected, so we don't need others to solve the case for us."
