Serah POV
"Kevin, I found my mate."
...
The mattress tensed at my words.
His whole body froze while his pupils dilated dangerously.
I was seeing through my tears how the man was tearing up, from the inside, in front of me.
The blur wasn't enough to hide the void forming between us.
My fingers trembled but still tried to reach for his face.
He caught me with no longer the undercoating of playfulness.
I tried to grasp his warmth, but what remained of us was nothing but glass dust.
Broken remains, a beautiful glitter but still lethal.
My throat started to hurt, and in my was I could feel the burn.
"What do you mean? Your mate..."
My words were not coming out, my tongue was crushed behind my teeth.
I intertwined the fingers that were stopped mid air and brought his hand down so I could see his face.
A face stoic, expressionless, now it couldn't be undone.
We were a past, so sweet I wished we'd finish that story in our eighties.
"Kevin..."
"What do you mean Serah?"
His words were slightly above a murmur but I could hear them loud and clear.
I had scattered us.
And I wasn't even guilty before seeing that face of his.
Marvelous only to my eyes now.
"I'm sorry..."
"What do you mean you're sorry?!"
He let go of my hand and shook my shoulder violently.
I almost lost balance but his grip was tight enough to keep me in place, almost hurting me.
"Answer me Serah!!"
His eyes watered, and his voice became louder, he was shooting. He never shouted at me but I couldn't even blame him, he was terrified.
And I couldn't even reassure him.
I was disgusted with myself. How could I leave us behind and move on without à second thought.
At first I was being petty but now it was a whole different story.
Jay, I want him now.
My mouth was trying to make some sound out of it but everytime I would try to form some words,it closed without my own accord.
I want to soothe him but today I was nothing but his cursed love.
A heartbreaker, who wished him the best but I would no longer be in the picture.
My tears drew a river across my face were to only flow would meet at the end, innonding the mattress.
"Serah, tell me you're lying, please!! I beg you! I don't care if you had someone in between. I know, I couldn't ask you to wait for me, not when I might not wake up."
The man was tearing the space with his voice echoing all over the room.
The walls were all aware how much of a vile woman I was.
If only things were different, if only I hadn't a fate already written...
"But I'm awake now."
I could barely hear his last words as the decibels dropped drastically.
