Serah POV

"It means a three and a zero, thirty minutes that I haven't seen you."

...

A laugh reverbeted into these white walls.

It became louder, uncontrollable and mocking at the same time.

"I swear, she was gone for thirty minutes!!"

Olsen seemed like a mad woman trying to convince a mad man.

One, because she was seeing things and the other because he was ignoring her words like a kid.

I sat there, as I watched them throwing over each other words they didn't mean.

Though, about Eos I wasn't sure.

If their chaotic symphony wasn't enough, they chased each other around, around the desk I was sitting on...

It was funny at first, but seeing the official papers flying around pushed me past my limits.

My hand collided with the white tiles of the desk, loud enough so it wouldn't break.

But I did see à part vibrating until a small crack was left, before I could hide It Eos eyes were on it.

Slowly I pushed some papers so it wouldn't be seen, at the same time, my voice rose.

"Would you two stop already! Eos is right, there is no way I stayed half an hour inside the water but it's true that I stayed a while, like enough for me to reach the place where there was no more ground.

I was far away so she wouldn't have seen me until I got closer."

The silence that was here while I was talking was now replaced with their banter.

"Olsen, wolves have always been animals that can get their way around water so don't dig too much on it. At the end of the day, Serah is still human."

The noise was turned off, but somehow, it became cold and awkward.

Was it the white space ?

Or the results that I was still waiting for?

The lab was the only place that my senses abhorred.

It seemed soundless but each machine had its very rhythmic cue on which it was beeping

Even the lights, they were all so vivid.

I should have enjoyed more of the beach and the marine world while I was here.

The result was taking too long, I glanced over my watch and started to bite on my finger tips.

It was time.

I was going home.

Eos caught my bad habits and realized that I indeed needed to go.

"Serah, you can go if you want, the result would take too long."

Olsen cut in.

"I think she should stay, it won't be too long..."

His hand deposed itself on hers.

"I know, but her mom is already waiting for her, she should go now."

His words were unusually firm. My mom could wait a few more minutes but I couldn't dare say the same for the flight I needed to take.

The straps of my bag were now over my shoulder.

I was ready.

Our europeen girl stayed behind, so she could see how her experiment was progressing.

My uncle was gentleman enough to accompany me until the last hall before exiting the lab.
