Serah POV"I don't want to hear it, just come to me when you are ready. I'll wait for you."
...
This word were haunting me, it had been a week since I came back but Jay was holed up in his paperwork and I was busy avoiding him.
I pulled my hair as some strands got caught up in my fingers.
I wished it was his hands intertwined with whatever I could offer him.
Damn it.
Being so close yet so far was playing with my sanity.
I knew there was nothing I could do until I explained to him what happened. There was nothing to hide honestly, but I was scared.
My fear was that my feelings and the bond bestowed upon me were walking on distinct parallel lines.
Even if I put my mind into committing to the bond, what if all I wanted was to love whoever my will was drawn to.
And what if he could tell that my heart was losing its balance.
My hairs raised all over my arm as the sole idea of hurting him was terrifying.
The world was a vibrant green and I was living in it as a red flag.
My lips twitched, I was more like golden light more likely to be the cause of many death.
None of this was flattering but the dress I was wearing wouldn't say the same. Today, I took all the courage I had to see Jay, to talk to him. To be a healthy couple that communicated.
It had nothing to do with the reunion I had to present myself to.Olsen was coming, first to make amends for her failed experiment.
She was willing to take all the blame as long as she could continue to work on her new research that was me.
I had to be there as her presence was only caused by me being there.
Moreover, even if we were officially allies, the packmates were reluctant to let a humain crawl over the labs, without adding the fact that she already had a record of using confidential samples that belonged to the werewolf community.
I signed.
She was too much work for me and she actually thought that I would be mated so that was why she rushed.
I have yet to tell her that she would need to wait a bit.The muslin embraced my skin sensually, at times it'll leave at the wind's order. I wouldn't complain, the fresh air brought sense back to my desolate crane.
The white fabric was flowing gently while my ribcage was violently shaking. I brought my hands to my chest but it wasn't enough to calm the rising anxiety.
The doorknob was centimeters away but my fingers rather stayed together in the warmth of my fist.
My mind didn't have much of a choice to make when a hand from behind back got ahold of the door.
"Are you not entering?"
The whisper sent me into an oblivion. His voice vibrated near my ear, with his hand dangerously close to my waist.
Before the lust reached my thoughts, his upper body came in contact with my back, if only it was only that. My bottom was caught in a spoon making me unable to avoid his warmth, more like the sun ready to explode. My thighs came in together to make sure not one of my indecent needs were to appear into the light.
But when his hand lodged on my lower stomach, I was already a lost cause.
