Once upon a time, there was a wolf, as white as the bright moon, howling against the dark sky.

A sky ready to fall under each of his painful cries.

It was known that he would pour his sorrow at the banks of the lighted lake.

The nights where the moon disappeared, the closest pack to that pool of sorrow would always hear the howls.

The celestial body was a representation of the goddess herself, thus, the gut wrenching sound playing in her absence could only be a bad omen.

Every shapeshifter was warned to keep their family safe, hide their wives and children.

It became a rule unwritten, as the tears of that unknown creature were heard, everyone would lock their doors.

Until a curious girl found herself to those sobs.

She waited for the village to fall under a deep slumber, covered in her red cloak.

She didn't know where the lake was but her senses were alert, and the sadeness thickened in her heart as she closed the gap with her forbidden act.

Her surhuman abilities were enough to guide her towards a warmth she didn't know she would find.

A warmth she didn't deny even though she had a betrothed, one given by the deity herself.

Her emotions were messed under the closed eyes of the goddess and decided to betray her home.

The good hearted girl consoled the cursed creature and fell for passion and beauty. But at a price no one could tell.

It was a day, a maiden sinned when her majesty the moon was looking away. To atone the sins of the red coated girl, all the maiden worshipping the Moon Goddess would wear white to represent the absent Moon and to ask forgiveness for that mortal behaviour.

A ritual symbolising a promise between soulmates, not ever to be broken.

Jayson POV

The hall was full of noise and happy chatter. I would have been annoyed if I wasn't in a good mood now.

I retrieved the ring I wanted to give her.

A yellow diamond.

A stone as sparkly as her eyes and as rare as her existence.

The jewel shone brightly on its velour cushion and my lips couldn't help but reach my ear.

"Bro!! Your smile is disgusting!!"

My beta's arm wrapped around my shoulder as his words didn't match his lightheaded happiness.

"Leave him alone, he's proposing tonight!!"

My sister's words echoed in my intoxicated second hand's head.

He took a second to place the words in order but the light came back in his eyes.

"For real?! But did you need to do that?"

"Idiot!! She has grown as a simple human, so obviously she'd need it!! And that's the least a man should do!"

Her harsh words were reflected by puppy eyes slowly welling up.

"Babe, did I need to do that?"

My little sister, eyes softened and hid her coming giggles under her hand.

"I'm a wolf but I don't mind being spoiled."

The man with rosy cheeks, jolted from his saddened posture to some over ecstatic state. He swept my baby sis off her feet and showered her with loud kisses.
