Serah POV
The taxi, the flight, the taxi again and now the boat...
The motor was making my ears bleed, like the take off, like the guy who used to work for an important conglomerate but because of his affair with one of his interns, he lost his job, his wife, his house but he kept the car.
So now he had to make a living somehow.
His life was miserable, but it was only karma playing back all his wrong doings. The man didn't even reflect on his acts as he was crying about the one room apartment he was living in.
I should be grateful seeing how pitiful human life could get but my complaints were filling my head, and there wasn't any face to empty the jar to.
Well, there wasn't but the opportunity came like an oasis in a desert.
A field left with questions unanswered, now ready to be answered.
Eos was driving the engine without care, I received cold splatters as I quickly closed my eyes.
Those damn reflexes, when they were more than welcome, they didn't show up.
"Eos, when will we arrive?"
The man sighed without even looking towards me, eyes over the light blue of the sky or the saturated one of the ocean.
A world he contained in one of his eyes.
It was mesmerizing but the land was still hiding under the glitter scattered all over the water.
"Serah, if you focus your gaze right forward, you wouldn't be asking me that same question all over again."
As if it was something new, the view stayed blue, and my hope crumbled to the ocean.
When will we arrive?
Eos told me to focus but I was sure it was a scheme to blind make me go blind.
The sky was so luminous that I struggled to keep my eyes open.
As I lost one of my senses, my hearing stepped forward, I could hear the shadows that flew over my head and the sea meeting the shore.
We weren't far.
I left the pilot alone and got lost in my thoughts.
If I could only see with my ears then so be it. My eyelids were not enough to shield me against the radiant light.
The blue was replaced by the warm red. I was scared to open my eyes.
Voices collided in my mind. Most of them were foreign but one stood against the unfamiliarity.
Was it a scene I played too much in my head that I was hallucinating or was my mom not so far.
Abruptly I opened my eyes, and as fast as I did, I was violated by a sharp pain.
Nonetheless I looked over the man that was ignoring me for quite a long time now.
He didn't need to acknowledge me to respond.
"So you're hearing her too?!"
"I'm not daydreaming, mom is somewhere here!!"
"Yeah, And she's as loud as ever."
She was only good at nagging but she wasn't that much of a loud person, I thought to myself .
But again, she was his sister and my mom, so she wouldn't deliver the same personality to us both.
