Serah POV

“Who stole your papers?”

Olsen, let herself fall onto the bed, as if all her souvenirs were coming to the front of her eyes.

The ceiling was of no comfort, the cold walls were enormous, it was beautiful but the warmth wasn't here.

I sat next to her, making the mattress sink a bit.

The contact made her face me but I couldn't decipher her expression.

“I'm sure it's the government. It can only be them. Nobody believes me but I'm sure.

Olga was the one dealing with domestic relations and there wasn't any trust between them.

And to it all, the research was fully stolen only when my sister discovered our thesis issue.”

It became calm after her rant, but her voice was chilling as she lowered her statements.

“I don't know how, but they have insiders.”

It was a possibility but it never failed to freeze my blood.

Packs were like small countries, if information got leaked it was as grave as country secrets spilled out.

Each of the packs were ruled like in the Middle Age, all the power was detained by the Alpha. I was in the front lines of the unjust system.

He was the law.

He was powerful so he also was both its sword and shield.

Olsen was also from a closed system, with a King. They couldn't shift but it was the same as the packs.

Their system at least included relationships with both humans and werewolves.

They were the mediator. The hunters.

However, with the latest incident, the time came where they had to pick a side.

Olsen´s presence was enough to claim our friendly terms but for how long.

“What if it's someone from your side? What if the one who betrayed us was no other than someone from your Europa kingdom? What if hunters and werewolves were not as friendly as we think we are.”

The questions that I thought that I’d keep to myself were out of the bag.

For her ears to hear.

“Are you suspecting us?”

“I'm suspecting everything and anyone. I don't know what to believe anymore.”

I fell next to her, with the ceiling in view.

I was confused.

I came here with answers in view but the whole ordeal was way more complicated than a simple prophecy.

Danger wasn't on my tail but on those who bear the blood of the legitimate heirs of Ice Moon.

A hand was in mine, my head tilted upwards only to see Olsen moving me out of the comfortable bed.

“Let's go to the beach before you get out of here.”

The sky was brighter on this side of the forest, even the sun shone against the water leaving on its surface its imprints.

If it wasn’t for the glittery effect, I wouldn’t be able to tell where the horizon was, both blues were melting against each other.

Shoes in hand, the soles of my feet feeling the hot sand, and each grain left a vivid sensation on my skin.
