Serah POV

Nothing is sure anymore.

...

"Are you playing with me?"

I was pissed, was it tiredness or was I seriously mad?

Once they want me single, coming in between us and now mated.

"Serah, dear-"

"Don't Serah dear, me! Was your goal to completely drive me insane? Then I bet you're happy because you've done a good job."

My voice was resonating in this space devoid of any personal signature.

I was hearing my voice thrice in the same sentence.

My heels turned and my body faced the exit, I wanted to turn off all the information I had been punched with the latest hours.

A hand yanked my arm to the otherside.

"Serah, I know that you are a pure victim of your own condition. Maybe the people around should have dealt with your personal matters better but now, you know.

You know how crucial you are to your species and eventually the threatened peace.

You can have your breakdown when we are done and get the wanted result.

For now, lay low, come back when you are mated."

She took the air from my lungs while I was trying to process her words.

I could have tolerated any bullshit, but fortunately not today.

My nails broke out ready to move away the hand restraining me but with a swift movement, she injected me with some weird fluid.

"What the hell was that?!"

My nails disappeared and so did the adrenaline ready to pounce out.

"A resistance against your genetic advantages, most lycan are civil but in certain cases there are exceptions. Don't worry, it's only effective five to ten minutes, an adequate time for you to get your act together."

Arguing with her was of no use, she would spat out whatever she'd find convenient. But her hold on my arm was still present and it was starting to get annoying.

"Move away!"

I spat through my gritted teeth.

The moment her fingers released the fabric, I stormed off, not respecting the initial calm area.

Before I knew, my steps were echoing in a dark hallway, with more sophisticated items, I didn't know the way but all I needed was to follow my own scent.

My thoughts were in shambles, I felt wronged but there was this uneasiness in my stomach.

I ignored it as I slapped the door close.

No more wasting time. I was determined to get out of this hellhole, everything was going well before coming here.

But dealing with Kevin drained me, my soul and my heart were going through a silent war and my brain graved itself in guilt.

All of this was going on in my body, and was making me sick.

The only solace I could actually seek might even reject me.

My eyelids heavily fell down and I crumbled on my bed.

I slept too much but my energy was leaking out.

My headphones were buried in my bag. The inside was a mess, clothes in a ball, random pens and at last the case. It had been ages since I had used them. I tried to switch it on but as suspected they didn't have any charge.
