Serah POV
"Here, we meet again Serah."
...
Immediately, my stance was fixed on the ground, my arms in position to fight but the two pairs of globulous eyes made me back off with a sigh of relief.
I was on the pack territory so obviously, I was bound to meet some fellow wolves.
I pushed back the latest report to only give back the light these youngsters emitted.
"Gianna!! And sorry, I never caught your name."
My explanation was flabby but even though I remembered him quite well, his name never popped up.
"It's Elio."
The bright boy was flashing his teeth and the two of them were actually acting awkward.
I finally let go of my guard, and the smell was weird between these two, as if they did something they shouldn't have.
I tried to analyze a bit more and now I felt dumb.
Those rosy cheeks on Gianna and both of their hair ruffled with a few twigs lodging on Elio's curls.
I sighed.
"How old are you guys?"
They both looked at each other before Elio spoke again.
"We're seventeen, we'll turn eighteen in a few months."
They were making out at seventeen.
I felt like scolding them but they looked really cute together. However, they'll be heartbroken if it turns out that they were not destined to be with each other.
My heart was torn between warning them and letting them be but my conscience couldn't overlook the situation.
"Guys you should sneak out only if you're sure about each other, if it's simple curiosity a lot of people will get hurt."
They watched the soil in embarrassment, making the girl's face beat red. The boy took the girl's hand and intertwined their fingers. Now, Gianna looked at Elio with pure contentment and held his tighter.
"I promise, it's something we feel that we cannot explain, I promise to be respectful towards her until she's eighteen."
The guy bowed as if he was asking for my daughter's hand. I chuckled because they were too cute and Gianna was too shy to hide her expressive face.
My mind was peaceful seeing them together, and from Jess' experience, if they felt an undeniable attraction towards each other, without their wolf coming in the way, the probability of them being mates was high.
I stopped giggling and put some ease to their contracted stance.
"Just be careful and always treat each other with respect."
We all smiled and the boy nudged his secret lover gently. She moved forward and for the first time, her light hazel eyes met mine.
To my honor, I was also going to hear her voice.
"Luna, I'd like to thank you for the last time. When you carried me to the hospital, my brother told me, he didn't have the time to tend to my wounds and that you were already sprinting for help."
I patted her strawberry blond hair and whispered;
"'You're welcome."
I thought she couldn't blush more but I couldn't be any more wrong. They both smiled warmly and they took each other's hand before uttering words I wouldn't have predicted.
"By the way, everyone in our class is on your team, we support Luna and Alpha Jayson. You are the best couple and I was surprised to see the real face of Dina, she was always so nice to us."
The boy was proudly claiming that he was supporting me and to be honest, it was what I needed in this tough period.
I was supposed to be a guiding light for these wolves but their trust in me went too low for me to adjust correctly to my new responsibilities.
"Thank you, you too!!"
They were ready to scurry off but I was fast to advise them on some topic they would prefer I'd forget.
"No more hiding in the woods doing who knows what!!"
They were fast on their feet but the quiet Gianna moved her head to face me with concern.
"Luna, could you keep this a secret from my brother."
It was amusing, they felt like a breeze of fresh air, like a pause in this never ending trail of calamity.
Back to my initial route, our little encounter distracted me but I didn't need to go far in the forest as I was facing my mate, who was walking towards me.
I didn't stop on my track, my legs knew all too well where to go and so did he.
His eyes were red and his knuckles bruised.
Inches apart, the air between us started to lack but our body maintained a safety distance from each other.
The few morning rays that managed to penetrate the green foliage, were flooding the space in a warm golden smoke.
The dust was floating around, making themselves visible to our naked eyes.
And slowly, the threes thrusted back and forth to the rhythm of the wind.
If it wasn't for the wreck caged in his chest, I would qualify this moment as perfect.
Nature was gracefully making a space so beautifully arranged for its children, but beyond this gift, the world was horrendous making it impossible for us to dwell in this forest.
I cupped his cheeks, my finger tracing the evidence of a body of water, the line of a past river. His swollen eyes invading my soul and his whole being crashing into me.
Our scent mixed and were fighting to keep our individuality, soon we were to become one as the sparkle traveled both our bodies.
His voice muffled in my neck was starting to get agitated.
"If only my mom, she didn't-"
I brought my hips closer, shuting his devastating speech. There was nothing we could do about the past, there was only the present that we were certain of.
"I forgave her."
He was to move away but my lips were not done.
"I forgive you."
His joy was communicated from his whole essence, his cells were more luminous, his hold was more firm but there was still this veil of sadness obstructing the enthusiasm to take over. And he told me why:
"But I know, there is still a part of you that wouldn't completely forgive me."
He was correct but entering a relationship without refreshing its history was bound to fail. His words weren't his but his slap was clearly his hand moving on its own, even if I might have provoked him.
There was only one solution here.
I moved away from his embrace and counted three steps backwards, it should be enough, I commented to myself.
My wrist was summoning the inhuman strength that my uncle taught me; and I launched all at once my fire punch.
It was the first time I tried it on someone as the guys always managed to dodge it, however, it wasn't the case of my mate.
He cried out in pain, balled on the ground, his arm around his waist.
"Serah, my ribs I think they're broken."
He hissed through his fractures, and I felt a bit bad but not that much.
At least now, we were settled.
"I fully forgive you Jayson Rider, you better not make any more mistakes."
I warned playfully.
But I still needed to take someone to the hospital.
