Serah POV

2 hours before the ball -

Dear Lord, my hair was wet, my nails undone and to my utmost fear, my whole body needed waxing.

I rushed towards the mirror leaving the carpet darker on my trail. My long and humid hair was sticking to my back, leaving my skin cold for a while now.

My throat constricted at the idea that I needed to do a lot before the actual party. I sighed half heartedly as I had no idea how I would pull this off.

"You don't need to wax!!"

That woman, always blabbering unwanted opinions.

"Look at me for real?! Jay would run away before the ceremony even starts."

The girl laughed as she tied tighter the towel under her shoulders.

"Sis, I'm scared that I have to tell you that you look exactly the same to me, the only apparent difference might be your vision, that has improved a lot, so you're just seeing things you didn't see before."

My sweet baby girl might be right but she needed to work on the way she formulated her comforting words. Now I couldn't help myself from feeling anxious.

"Relaxe, you only need to do your hair and your nails now!!"

I was relaxing, until she put on my head all the tasks I hadn't done yet. I could feel my brain melting from the heavyload.

...

"We made it!!"

The girl was yapping happily, but we weren't in any position to celebrate.

"Jess, we only have ten minutes to make it to the hall?!"

Her eyes rolled back, as she sighed.

"Serah!! It officially starts now but it's only in one hour or two that the ceremony starts, when you can actually, disappear with your mate... Doing exactly what everybody knows."

I pushed her slightly at her remark. I couldn't even hide the blood tainting my cheeks.

The fresh hair of the dawn hit my exposed legs, but it was only soothing my growing anxiety. It was tonight. The night where Jay would claim me as his, a night we waited too long for.

All the time we wasted would be fully recuperated and my whole body tingled at the idea.

"That's disgusting! I don't want to know."

Disgust was rather a soft word to describe the expression on her face.

"What got onto you? All of sudden?"

She didn't hesitate to spit back my exact same words right on my face.

"What got onto you, all of sudden? Don't start fantasizing about my brother right next to me."

She made sure to emphasize the right words for me to fully admit my shameless thoughts. I forgot for a second that wolves could smell the tiniest bit of emotion in someone.

It was cool, until I realised that I needed to share a private part of myself that I never thought could divulge this easily.

"Get used to it because after this splendid night, I won't bother to hide my cravings."

"I'm going to throw up."

The girl started gagging some air. And I couldn't help but smile. We're officially going to be sisters-in-law.

...

We walked for quite some time, from the nice grass to entering the dark forest. If I didn't gain these super powers I would have never gone in there with this much ease.
