Serah POV

"Jay, there was something I haven't told you, with Kevin, we never broke up..."

...

His face muscles loosened up, and it was in his eyes, was the void. An utter pit in which I was swallowed, ready to burn alive.

My head fell to my shoes, the pretty heels that I chose were now judging me. The poor choices I had made, hurting the people I loved the most.

"Repeat that?"

His voice trembled against his teeth making it hard to reach my hearing. But I won't play deaf, I had enough to be reprimanded for.

"It's more complicated than you think."

"I'm listening, I'll give as much time as you want but for the space I don't thing I can anymore."

His face was brushing my skin, our eyes would talk, but I was behind the bar and he was the one holding the mallet.

The court was more than generous to offer me time to gather my explanation but it sounded more like excuses pilling up.

I took a step back so I would own back my personal space and thankfully he didn't budge.

"It's a long story."

"We both have time."

If I could shed tears while having my eyes dry, then I was crying.

"Kevin, he was my first love, my first everything... We never once thought we would have been apart, I grew with him. He'd be here at each of his holidays, he was slightly older so I would follow around.
You know where I live, it was easy to get bored, moreover when you had a mom like mine..."

...

Four Years Ago

There was a white fluffy wolf that was running around the garden. The walls around were far enough for her to train to her heart's content.

He fur shining gold when exposed to the sun, her claws slowly becoming more and more frightening as the time passed.

A big little monsters bolting around the daisies but somehow her back paws gave out and she stumbled muzzle first to the  springy turf.

I sat up from the enormous root that broke over the surface and walked to her. I was hearing a sound I was familiar with now, bones breaking and reshaping into the human that she was.

The clothes that I had in mind went flying over her head. Her bright smile was competing with both the sun and her golden threads.

"Thank you sis!"

In a hurry, she managed to look presentable. And for today it was important.

...

"So my new instructor, he arrived."

The whole entire ten minutes we took to get back to the house she asked me same questions, if I wait ten more seconds-

"What's his name? Eos right, do you really think he could help me?"

At first I made sure to answer to all her curiosity but she was making me fight against a forming headache.

"Baby girl, the door is at view length, just ask him, when you'll see him?"

"But what does he look like?"

She was like a bee buzzing around my ear, yellow and loud. If she wasn't sweet I would have overdosed on her words.
How much energy did she have to never stop yapping.

There were only five meters left until we get to the kitchen but she wouldn't even spare me a little song from the birds. I hadn't heard since she was here.
