Serah POV

"Serah, for now, let's keep this between us. I'm not sure and I won't find a thing in this pack. Although, as the luna of Red Crescent, I order you Serah Silverknight to never break the boundaries of our pack. Until I say otherwise."

What the hell was happening. Did she order me to stay within her territory like a prisoner?

I didn't like it.

It feels like a déjà vu.

...

What was she blabbering?

My feet went to the kitchen without my brain's approval but I was too busy thinking about the whole issue. Some water would be appreciated or all this rumination will lead to an overheating.

Something fishy was happening but I didn't even know what.

How come a luna from a werewolf pack knew my mom?! Iris Silverknight, the woman with whom I share my blood and my last name.

What are you hiding, mom?

The cold glass made contact with my lips, the only way I had to satiate my curiosity and my dried throat.

Though, I almost spat it out.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to surprise you."

Her presence was made when I felt her hand on my shoulder, and I didn't feel her getting closer. The woman had a powerful aura, so how she concealed it would remain a mystery.

"Max was it? Can I help you?"

She ran her hand through her short hair styling it up. She didn't have to but the mess was left elegant now.

She sure was charming, lean, and tall, as tall as Jess. If it wasn't for the feminine trait her face portrayed, she would be easily mistaken for a pretty boy.

One thing was sure, she was attractive.

"Yeah, it's been a week that we tracked the survivor but we couldn't find a lead. He was mostly playing with us. So... Do you guys knew each other?"

Her eyes were suggestive,  did she think I helped the trepassor. I was fuming, she was treating me like a traitor.

"Hey, I'm not suspicious of you but he clearly had business with you and not the pack nor the were's community. Do you maybe have a lead?"

The ill-feeling I felt disappeared rapidly. She was right in a way and I got angry for nothing. Surely because of the crush my mate had on her.

"I apologize, there is a lot to take in but nothing, I never saw that guy."

I gulped the entire glass and hurried out, this woman made me uncomfortable and we didn't talk with Jay since that night.

I was making my way out but her grip was firm on my wrist. I thought she had some more questions until she slammed my body against the nearest wall.

My heart skipped a beat at this brutal act coated with gentleness. My eyes grew wide when I realized our closeness, I was no werewolf but I definitely could smell her honey-agrums soap.

As if our figure didn't touch enough, she approached and I felt every vibration while she whispered.

"I know you're hiding something from us, so be a good girl and tell us already."

Damn, I didn't register a word she said. Before I could utter a word, the warmth tackled against me was yanked away violently.

The scene in front of me was absurd, Max was on the floor and an overprotective alpha was roaring inside the small room.

What was wrong with him.

"Calm down big boy."

Her hand gripped the counter to share her wight with it and a second later, she was on her feet.

She was smiling, amused by the situation but it wasn't the case of our dear alpha, her words were not welcomed  and made him angrier.

"What were you doing?!"

His voice was shaking from irritation. The female alpha was far from giving him an answer, it didn't go unnoticed but as the grown boy he was, he took a deep breath and hurried outside, with me in his grasp.

The action played too fast and I couldn't follow the altercation. Did I miss something? Everything was too blurry for me to comprehend.

Lost in my thoughts, the fresh air of the forest reminded me that we were outside and exited the packhouse a long time ago.

"Let go already!"

I jerked back my hand where it should be, attached to my color bone, against my frame. Not in some random guy's hold.

It seemed like I broke the spell and brought his soul back to earth, as he was elsewhere.

His eyes finally landed on me, it was the first time since the hunting that we were face to face. We were no longer hiding  into our business nor occupation.

I could see that the moment he retrieved his gaze from me that he was going to run away from our confrontation. I could careless, tonight I was summoned by our luna and my fate will be decided.

Hence, having this much of distance was a good idea.

He turned his heels ready to take off wherever his instinct told him to.

The wind was cool, it was blowing from my back and I knew it was distracting to him.

He looked back and came back closing the gap between our skins, but we never touched.

"Get away!"

The warning caught him off guard. The oppressing feeling I felt soon dissipated when he took some step back. His brows arched in frustration by my words.

"What's wrong with you?"

The question was out of place. These didn't belong to him.

"What's wrong with you?! You barged into the kitchen, pushed a full-grown innocent alpha because of your possessive ass. And because it wasn't enough, I'm in the middle of the forest with a mere T-shirt!"

I, myself, was surprised by my outburst. All the pent out anger came out at once. It wasn't even cold.

"She wasn't all that innocent, she had you against a wall, and no one has my mate against-"

The audacity his words had. There was a reason why I was on edge the last seven days and he knew more than anyone why.

"And last time I checked we were nothing!"

The raging dark of his eyes calmed back to his usual pacific blue or more to a pained blue. It wasn't easy seeing him distraught but his words still echoed in my skull.

"Serah... You were pushing me off that cliff, I was mad, please, let's talk-"

In mid-sentence, he turned away, I looked towards the attention seeker that was no other than Kamil. He was near enough for us to bear a conversation.

"Alpha..."

He acknowledges his alpha but soon diverted my way.

"Serah, the luna is looking for you we should go."

The guard stood still even though Jay was giving him the wide eyes. I knew Jay did want us to talk this through but I was confused myself.

Whatever conclusion I'll make, it'll depend on our meeting.

I turned towards Jay, crossing eyes one last time before turning to Kam.

"Let's go."

...

Guys! Thank you for keeping up with me!! I'm so sorry it took so long but I didn't have any time because of my exams.

Anyway, thank you so much for all of you who made it that far.

love y'all.
