Serah POV
He didn't listen one bit of what I had to say, before I could pour my anger one more time, all the bottles sang, clashing lightly against each other. The trembling stopped and here I realised that behind the oldest bottles, a door opened, by a trick that only Kamil knew how to make.
Here was our exit.
...
"How did you find out?"
I wouldn't have thought of breaking the most expensive shelf of the cave.
He advanced, as the remaining glass crushed under his weight.
"Nineteen century? These bottles turned into vinegar a hundred years ago."
"But I thought, the older the better."
"Indeed but first, it depends on the vintage and between us, most bottles are better drinken between their twenty and ten years."
Kamil proved to me once again that I still had much to learn. However, a talk was needed. Did it make sense that I knew nothing about my blood, my property or myself?
"So now that we found the entryway of this so secret passage, what shall we do? What do we take with us?"
My guide absorbed the little information in front of him.
The mixed stone and brick wall opened up living nothing but a dark entry.
A black rectangle behind a fruity mess.
First, we'll have to clean up for sure."Serah, come closer."
My eyes tried to trail beyond the unknown but nothing, getting closer seemed useless.
I carefully dodged the translucent green glass, unfortunately, I was bound to meet certain of them living a sour sound.
It did affect me but I couldn't compare to Kamil, by reflex, he clenched his ears while compressing the skin of his face to the center.'Sorry'
I whispered with a guilt tripping voice.
He dismissed the horrendous experience and announced why he needed me at the entrance.
"Tell me. What do you see?"
My body twisted back right away.
"Nothing, absolutely nothing."
He was being ridiculous. I didn't need to get closer to know the limit of my own senses.
Kamil couldn't be bothered, his face became strict."It's not far but Ice Moon is still miles away. I'll get all the stuff we need, I'll bring back the lifeless aspect of your house and in the meantime, train as much as you can. I won't carry any more burden on the way."
...
And here we are.
On Kamil's back with a blind Serah.'Do you need to be on the verge of dying, every single time, for your abilities to show up.'
"I can hear you Kamil."
'As you're supposed to.'
I did try my best but nothing, my eyes couldn't see beyond the dark filter around us. However, with whatever miracle, I can hear Kamil's thoughts, he couldn't hear mine though.
"Does it make sense that I can read your thoughts? And it's one sided, how does it work?"
To my surprise, I heard the wolf version semi growl or whatever sound he made. Was he annoyed by me?
'Serah, you're a direct descendant of a lycan clan and my blood, from generation to generation exists only to serve your species. Our purpose might have changed but the bond still subsists. And you found it, our link. But I can't hear because you're not opening the mind link.'
