Kirishima returns home and shares some of his pizza with the twins, much to Kat's annoyance. We enjoy a chatter-filled dinner with many stories about Kat's anger-filled first year, courtesy of Eijiro Kirishima.

Watching the children interact with the redhead is genuinely comforting. Back in America, we tried to have family over often. Dabi would come over every Friday for a family dinner and the kids always looked forward to it. Sometimes, we'd invite Mitsuki and Masaru over for dinner as well. Unfortunately, Mitsuki and Katsuki's constant arguing caused Hiro a lot of anxiety, so we had to limit how much time we spent together. Still, we can let the twins stay with their grandparents without too much issue.

The twins don't get much family interaction, because we don't have much family besides each other.

But, despite how shakey our past was, it almost feels like we might have family here...

I don't know how to feel about this...

Katsuki, noticing my silence, places a comforting hand on my leg. I smile and look up at him, he returns it with a smile of his own. Knowing that my husband is with me helps ease my nerves.

We finish up dinner and Katsuki loads the dishwasher. We decide to end the night peacefully with the kids' favorite musicals. We're barely halfway through the movie when the twins fall asleep. We wait another half an hour to be sure the kids won't wake up before turning off the tv.

Katsuki picks up Hiro while I carry Aiko to their room. We tuck the twins into their beds: Aiko in the Deku bedspread, and Hiro in the one with the Eraserhead bedspread.

Back in America, the twins had Comet and Nightmare bedspreads (which we got for free because of our shared agency) but you can't find American hero merch here, so we let them pick new ones.

Once the twins are tucked in, I give them both quick kisses on their foreheads, and Katsuki and I sneak out of the room. We return to the living room where Eijiro is waiting. I steel my mind in anticipation of the conversation we're about to have.

"I was promised answers." Eijiro simply states, looking at me with a piercing crimson gaze. I feel a second gaze, this time in ruby, and I know Katsuki is waiting for elaboration.

"I'll answer any questions you have." I reply before looking at Katsuki and mouthing the word "Mafia." He understands immediately and we take a seat on the couch together, facing the crimson-haired man.

"Ask away, dumb hair," Kat says. The familiar childish nickname, strangely enough, makes the air feel more relaxed. There's still a slight discomfort among us, but it's no longer unbearable.

"I guess my obvious first question is which Yakuza did your mother belong to?"

"I don't know, she never mentioned a name. Her maiden name was Shie, though. Does that ring a bell?" I reply. I notice Eijiro's eyes widen for a fraction of a second, followed by a low chuckle.

"Sometimes it feels like you're connected to everything and everyone around here. The Shie Hassaikai. We had an incident with them in our first year when they were manufacturing quirk-erasing bullets. Midoriya, Urarka, Tsu, and I were working with the agencies that the Nighteye agency recruited, so we were involved in the rescue."

"Elaborate, what rescue?" Katsuki asks.

"The Shie Hassaikai had a little girl named Eri. Their leader, Overhaul,  was using her blood to make the bullets." Eijiro Elaborates.

"That's awful...is she alright now?" I question.

"Yeah, she lives with Mr. Aizawa and attends UA. She's close to becoming one of UA's big three."

"Good for her. We'll have to meet her sometime."

"Yeah, but back on track, I have more questions." Kirishima interrupts.

"Too bad, I have a question for you," Katsuki interrupts, "You've explained your involvement with the league and the meeting and all that, but why would you even agree to meet with them in the first place? I know you're a Yakuza leader, but you're also a hero, so why?"

"It's hard to explain..."

"Try."

I watch as Kirishima takes a deep breath. He pauses, taking the time to piece the words in his mind together. I decide that things are getting a little too tense so I get up to make some tea for the three of us. It doesn't take too long and soon, I return with three cups of mint tea.

"Thanks, Teddybear/(y/n) the boys say in unison. The two sip their tea as I take my seat next to Katsuki. As an added layer of comfort, my darling husband pulls me closer and cuddles next to me.

"Whelp, I feel single." Kirishima jokes.

"And who's fault is that?" Katsuki questions, one of his trademark smirks gracing his face.

"..."

"That's what I thought."

"Whatever..."

And so, what began as a serious conversation faded into a lighthearted chat filled with jokes and hushed laughs. We almost forgot about Kat's question, but it still sat in the back of our minds. I didn't bring it up, not wanting to interrupt the peace.

At around midnight, we decide it's time to sleep. Kat and I say goodnight to Eijiro and make our way to our room. My husband and I curl up under the heavy blankets, I snuggle closer to him, and we fall fast asleep.
