The next few days at school I avoided Peter, he tried talking to me and I acted like I was busy saying things like, "Sorry maybe later." "Can't talk, have (class) next." "I have to focus." "Maybe after class." Then run away. I felt bad especially since I did want to apologize but again felt embarrassed.
I spent most of my time with Theo and Jade, talking about the dance, I even got my phone back.
I also tried to help people as we were moving out of the tower officially, anything to keep me as busy as possible, keeping my mind off the guilt of Peter no longer being Spider-Man.

It had been working until the day of the dance we ran into each other, a smile on his face but it almost fell.

"Hey, you look happy." I smile.

"Yeah.. I asked Liz to the Homecoming dance." He smiled.

"That's great!" I told him, genuinely happy because I knew how much he liked her.

"So, you're still going? I didn't get you in trouble?" He asks, a bit worried.

   "I'm going." I nod.

"Oh, cool! Who are you going with?"

I paused for a moment. I never thought about asking anyone and anytime anyone would ask me I would say no because other things were on my mind or I just didn't really know the person.

   "Just with a group."

"You didn't ask anyone? No one asked you?" He looked surprised and confused. "But you're Amelia Valdes Stark!"

"Yeah, but I don't care, Tony wouldn't let anyone take me anyway." I shrug and smile. "I gotta go but I'll see you there tonight."

   "Yeah." He says.

   "Bye Parker."

   "See ya later, Mel."

That night Jade came to my place to get ready, we did our makeup and hair and got dressed, giggling and talking, trying on our heels and things. It reminded us a lot of my Quince, just not as flashy.
I wore a nice blue dress and she wore the black one I got her, we heard the doorbell and knew that the guys had arrived.

"Girls, the boys are here!" Dad called.

We went down the stairs and dad looked at us. "Wow."

"I'm assuming that means we look good?" I ask.

"Great." He replied and he turned to Theo and Mason, an arm around them. "Don't get any funny ideas."

"We won't." Theo smiles nervously.

"Dad, lay off him." I pulled Theo away. "You've known Theo for a while, he won't do anything. He's sweet."

Tony nodded. "Right, nothing like me at his age. Okay, what about you?"

"He's good too, Tony." Jade pulled Mason away and he offered her the corsage. "See, gentlemen."

"Don't worry, she's safe with me." Mason says with a smile.

"Right." Dad nods and looks at his watch. "Isn't it a little early?"

"Yeah, we're going to the Substation to eat." Theo told him. "Then we'll go to the dance after and that way we don't have dinner after it."

Tony and I nod. "Yeah, he's good." Dad kissed the side of my head.

Theo looked a bit offended as we chuckled, getting our jackets.

"Okay, have fun." Dad said and I nodded. "Wait! Cheesy dad moment but let me take a picture. You know, for Pepper, she was begging for them earlier."
