Chapter 5

Remy POV

I got out of the car, to the studio. HeavenLeigh's getting some work done here since she's out here in LA for a bit, and I figured I'd pull up on her.

And also apologize for my behavior at the dinner the last night.

Even though Roddy started with me, I could've handled it better. And I want her to know that I acknowledge that.

I walked inside the studio and said "Here for HeavenLeigh"

"She's in the back, studio C" The lady said and I nodded my head saying "Thank you" before I walked down the hall, looking for studio C.

Once I got to it, I seen HeavenLeigh writing and humming a melody to the beat that was playing out loud.

I walked inside and heard her singing. She seen me and waved as she continued. I smiled and waved back as I sat beside her.

"Down on my luck, down in the dumps

And I know whatever happens, I'll be happy" She sang.

I rose my eyebrows before I smiled a little.

She never fails to impress me.

And everyone else as well, I'm sure.

"Cause I happen to be
Good in any situation
Calm and patient
By your grace, I'ma be
I'll be singing through the pain
I'ma dance in the rain, I'ma feel it
I'ma always keep the faith
I'ma be okay
Cause I'm still in it" She sang out.

"Yeah I think I'll keep it like that" She mumbled as she finished singing.

"That was beautiful" I said and she smiled saying "Thank you Remy!"

"Is this a gospel song?" I asked.

"Basically yes. But I did it differently, with my way of singing it and the type of beat I used. It doesn't sound like a typical gospel song you know? It's just mellow, relaxing, and keeps your mind on the Lord." HeavenLeigh said.

"Aww I love that. I'm so proud of you." I said.

"Thank you sweetheart." She said so sweetly.

"Your voice just sounds like I should be running in the meadows with flowers, trees and cupcakes" I said and she laughed so hard.

"Girl what?" She said laughing.

"You sound so pure and sweet!" I said and she giggled saying "Here you go, but thank you"

"How are you doing?" I asked as we hugged.

"I'm well, I'm well. You?" She asked.

"I'm aight. You know.. I really owe you an apology for last night and-"

"Hold your breath. It's all good, I know Roddy was pushing it." She said chuckling.

"I'm surprised you not really stressed about it" I said.

"Remy it's been two years since me and Roddy divorced, I don't let his ways get to me anymore. I let it be" Heaven said brushing it off.

I laughed and said "I see. Well that's good. I needa do the same thang"

"You'll be completely unfazed once you do. Once I signed them divorce papers, I gave it all to God. I don't be trippin no more" HeavenLeigh said.

"I'm proud of you Heaven. And I'm happy for you." I said and she smiled saying "Thank you."
