Chapter 32

HeavenLeigh POV

"Hey dad" I said walking in the house seeing him sitting on the couch.

Whenever I come to LA, I always make sure to visit my parents. My heart.

"Hey baby girl" He said.

"Where's mom?" I asked.

"She ran to the pharmacy to get my meds." He said, I nodded my head and sat beside him.

"How are you?" I asked with a smile as I hugged him, and he hugged me back.

"I'll be a lot better once I take my meds." He said chuckling.

"What you mean? What's going on? I thought you said you were good the last time we talked" I said.

"Yeah I know. But lately I haven't been breathing properly, that's all. My hernia pushes against everything so, it makes it hard for me to breathe sometimes. My blood sugars are low, and so is my blood pressure. So I take tons of medication." He said.

"Aww dad.." I said.

That really made me sad. My heart ached hearing that. I already knew about his hernia, but everything else is news to me. I guess he must've just found out.

"Don't feel for me baby girl, I'm gone be just fine. I already made my peace with God, so I'm alright." He said.

"What's that supposed to mean dad?" I asked and he just looked at me and grabbed my chin.

"It means, if something happens to me? You make sure you take care of your mom, okay? And, take care of the church." He said.

"Don't talk like that.." I said as my eyes watered.

"Baby I need you to open your eyes, and understand okay?" He said. I didn't say anything and I just looked down shaking my head.

"HeavenLeigh, come here" He said and I hugged him.

"I love you so much." My dad said.

"I love you more." I said.

"God knew you needed to be here right now." He said.

"I know." I said as we were still hugging.

"I love you, I love you, I love you." My dad said.

"I love you so much more. You are my heart. Taught me everything." I said as I kissed his cheek and we continued to hug.

I felt all his weight come onto me and I scrunched my eyebrows.

"Dad?" I said, and when I tried to lift him up, his body weight laid on me and my eyes widened.

"Dad" I said sitting him up, and his eyes were closed, and he took a deep breath.

"Oh my God" I mumbled.

"Dad, no no no, dad, please dad" I cried, I knew...

That was his last breath.

"No no no, please dad, come on, please" I cried as tears streamed down my face and I held him in my arms.

"God help me, Jesus" I cried, as I used one hand to grab my phone.

"Jesussssssss" I cried out.

"And.. I won!" I said as my dice landed on 11. I was playing Roddy, Latrel and Kamal, and we were playing for one stack.

"Damn" They all said at the same time and I cheesed.

"Give me my moneyyyyy" I teased as I laughed and they all slid me a stack wrapped in a rubber band.
