Remy POV
"Hey girl" I said to Heaven as she let me in her house and we hugged each other.
"Hey. How are you?" She asked me.
"I'm alright but the real question is how are YOU?" I asked as we were still hugging.
Then we pulled away and she shrugged saying "One day at a time."
"Where's Honesty?" I asked.
"Taking a nap in her room" She said. I nodded my head as we sat down on the couch.
"How are you feeling?" I asked.
"I mean.. I don't know. Can't believe it's been what... Three weeks now?" Heaven said.
"Yeah. That's crazy. Almost a month without him." I said.
"Very unreal." Heaven said.
"Did you put all of his things in storage yet?" I asked her.
"Yeah I did. But I grabbed the pictures he had on his wall, and put them up. I hung them up in the hallway, and some in Honesty's room. So she can have some visual memories." She said.
"What pictures were they?" I asked.
"Of everybody. He had pictures of me and him, me him and Honesty, you and him, him and Mal. Him and his mother. Everyone." She said.
"Aww that's dope." I said with a smile.
"And I got his phone so, I'll be able to have videos and things like that for Honesty." Heaven said. "I asked his mother if she wanted it but she said no, it's just too much for her." She added.
"That makes sense.." I said.
"Yeah. This is just different." Heaven said.
"What you mean?" I asked.
"Just... I'm gonna have to raise Honesty without him. All we got now are memories. It's just- It's weird. I'm waiting on the phone to ring, and him telling me I was just dreaming. Or.. Something. I don't know. It just doesn't feel right. It sucks." Heaven said.
"Yeah I know. I feel shitty. I mean, me and him didn't end on a good foot at all. But I hope he knew that I still loved him." I said.
"I'm sure he did. Despite it all." Heaven said.
"I just wanted to make sure I checked in with you. I know it's gotta be hard. Two deaths in one year.. It just- I don't know how your heart is processing all of this" I said.
"I don't know either. But I have the strength given to me by God, and I have to be responsible for me and for my daughter. I have to stay strong for her. I'm all she got now." Heaven said.
"Definitely." I said and I just looked at her, seeing a look of defeat on her face. "What chu thinking about?" I asked her.
"Nothing." She said trying to force a smile, and I just looked at her.
Then she frowned and her eyes started watering.
Damn.
"Aww Heaven.." I said scooting closer to her.
She tried to wipe her tears but couldn't.
"It's okay Heaven" I said holding her. "It's okay.." I said again.
"I know it's not easy. I couldn't even imagine. But I know you're gonna push through, and we all gone help with Honesty. You're not alone in this. I got you" I said.
"I know. Thank you so much" Heaven said.
I wiped the tear that fell out of my face. I haven't fully dealt with Roddy's death or processed it my damn self, because of how me and him ended off.
