Hawks walked into the house, his eyes immediately catching on the red feather that sat on the table. He walked over and picked it up, staring at it in his hand. "Hey Touya!" he shouted.
No response came. *Hawks walked down the hallway, stopping by Shinji's room to see that his son was already tucked away to sleep. He continued to his and Dabi's room the feather still in his hand.
When he opened the door he saw Dabi, sitting on the bed. He was getting ready for bed and had obviously had an exhausting day.
"What's this?" Hawks asked as he leaned against the doorframe, holding the feather in the air.
Dabi turned around, not having noticed that Hawks had gotten home yet, "Oh, you're home."
"Wow, wonderful observation, What's this?" he raised his eyebrow at Dabi and held the feather closer to him.
Dabi reached up to his earlobe, where the feather usually hung. "It must have fallen out." Dabi shook his head and reached to grab the feather from Hawks, but Hawks lifted it up so that it was out of Dabi's reach.
"You haven't taken this out since the day we got married Touya." Hawks shook his head, and bit the side of his bottom lip, "It fell out? It looks like you ripped it out. I just, I know you're mad that I didn't come home when I said I would. I wanted to. But you've been acting strange ever since I got home. You won't even talk to me. What the hell is going on Todoroki?"
"I told you, it fell out." Dabi stood up and grabbed the feather from Hawks, walking into their bathroom to put it back in his ear. "Don't make a big deal out of it ok?"
"If it was just that," Hawks followed Dabi, "then I wouldn't make such a big deal out of it, but you've been acting off for days now. I don't know what I did to upset you, and you won't even have a fucking conversation with me." Hawks paused and closed his eyes. He hadn't meant to raise his voice at Dabi, but he was so confused and hurt. He took a deep breath to calm himself and then spoke, "Can we please just talk about things?"
"I'm tired Kei," Dabi sighed, "I have barely been able to sleep this past week, I don't feel like talking about it. So can we just not."
"We have to have this conversation," Hawks wrapped his arms around Dabi from behind, pressing his cheek against his shoulder blade.
"Whatever the hell you think you're going to gain from bringing this shit up over and over again," Dabi grabbed Hawks' arms and pulled them off of him, "It's not going to work. I told you I don't want to have another kid, so just drop it. What the hell has gotten into you."
Dabi walked back to their room and crawled into bed. Hawks stood where Dabi had left him, stunned by his words. He stared at himself in the mirror, he tried to hold back his tears. He had been trained to* control his emotions, but he couldn't hold it back anymore.
Tears fell down his face, as his mind raced. There was no way that Dabi was only mad about having missed their date. He came home late often, and he'd always been so understanding before. Hawks couldn't figure out what he'd done, and it just broke his heart even more.*

Hawks was shocked to wake up to Dabi straddling him. As he opened his eyes Dabi smiled. Leaning over him, Dabi pressed his lips to Hawks'. Dabi moaned into the kiss and ran his hands up under Hawk's shirt. He traced his fingers along Hawks' muscles, and squeezed at his sides, pulling him closer.
Dabi's lips parted from Hawks' and he whispered, "I'm so sick of fighting." his lips trailed across Hawks' chin, over his stubble, down to his neck. Dabi parted his lips and pressed his teeth into the delicate skin over his pulse.
