5. The Egg

Two Weeks Later

Hawks sat on the floor of his bathroom, absolutely exhausted. He had never felt so much pain in his entire life. He had been there for hours, now that it was over he laid there in shock. How could this even be possible?

He held the smooth round object in his arms close to his chest, hugging it tightly. How could he explain this? He didn't even know what was happening himself.

He reached over to the phone that lay on the floor where he had dropped it, it was 2 am and he had one notification.

He was supposed to meet Dabi hours ago. He had tried to ignore the pain, but it was too much. He leaned his head back against the wall and called him, hoping he would answer.

"I'm going to kill him," Dabi said pacing around the Liberation base.

"Calm down, Dabs," Toga said, "something probably happened."

"Oh yeah sure," Dabi said, "What could have possibly happened that he couldn't at least answer my call? God. I'm gonna fucking kill him."

"What if he's hurt?" Toga said, "maybe he needs help?"

"If he's hurt than I'll kill whoever hurt him," Dabi said, "otherwise I'm killing him. Either way someone is dying tonight that's for fucking sure."

"Touya, please just calm down," Toga said, "I'm sure he has an explanat-"

"And whatever it is I don't want to hear it," Dabi said, "I'm such a fucking idiot. Thinking this would-" just then his phone rang, "the fucking nerve. Calling me now."

"So it's Hawks?" Toga asked.

"Won't be for long," Dabi said before answering the phone, "WHAT THE HELL TAKAMI?"

"So I'm guessing your mad?" Hawks said weakly on the line.

"No shit, I'm mad," Dabi said, "you stood me up."

"I'm sorry," Hawks said, "I was just-"

"I don't want to hear your stupid ass excuse," Dabi said, "Is this just a game to you? We're supposed to be together Keigo. And you can't even call me back. What the actual fuck?"

"Touya, please," Hawks said, "please come over."

"You want me to come over now?"

"Please. I need you."

Dabi entered Hawks' apartment to find it seemingly empty, "Keigo, I swear to god, where are you?"

"Here," he heard a small whispered coming from the bathroom. He entered to see Hawks laying on the floor covered in blood and clearly in pain.

"Who hurt you?" Dabi said rushing to Hawks' side, "I swear I'll kill them, who did this?"

"No one," Hawks whispered.

"Seriously Keigo," Dabi said, "I'll kill them."

Hawks held out the egg in his arms to Dabi, who just looked at him with concern and confusion, "What?"
