3rd Pov

~Flashback~

My name is Matsuoka Rin. I previously belonged to the Sano Swimming club. I have a girly name, but I'm a boy." Rin rubbed his head sheepishly.

Airi stared at the boy in intrest but brushed it off and went with her friends.

"Hey, that new kid is kind of cute. Don't you think so Airi-chan?" Iris asked.

"We just met him jeez." I shook my head.

"Look, he's gonna swim!" Yuki pointed towards him.

Rin put his goggles on and dove into the water, quickly catching up to Haru. They both turned and increased their speed, but Haru was faster. Haru reached the end of the pool where Makoto and Nagisa were there waiting for him.

"Eh, he's okay" Airi said nonchalantly.

"Give him a chance Airi-san, it was just practice and a warm up" Aya defended.

"You're as fast as the rumors said. What was your time?" Rin smiled brightly.

Upon hearing his voice, Airi turned her attention to them for a bit.

"I don't care about my time" Haru said, looking away from him.

Rin looked at him surprised and laughed at his answer. "That's just like the rumors said, too. Hey, I heard there's another person just as fast as Nanase, faster even. Where is he?"

"Oh, you must be talking about Airi-chan. But she's a girl, the fastest one here. Hey, Airi!" Makoto waved to catch her attention.

Airi turned around and walked towards them. "Yeah?"

Rin's eyes widened as a blush appeared on his face upon seeing her.

"This is Kirishima Airi. She's in the same class as us but she wasn't here today." Makoto explained.

"So, I hear that you're pretty fast. Care to race?" Rin smirked.

"You know, I don't really care about winning or races but when it comes to cocky swimmers, I won't hold back" Airi warned.

Rin and Airi positioned themselves on the diving block awaiting Makoto's signal.

"Ready...set...go!"

Both of them dived in but already Airi was in the lead. Airi glided right in with ease and swam as usual. Rin however was falling way behind, he tried to make up for it in the turn but it was too late. Airi took her cap off and saw that Rin was almost that the end. She got up and grabbed towels for herself and Rin. When Rin finally finished, Airi extended her hand out for him.

"Wow...you're incredible! You really are special." Rin gave her a big smile.

Airi's cheeks had a tint of pink on them "T-thanks."

"Let's be friends and swim together again" Rin extended his hands out.

"Yeah" Airi shook his hand, giving him a smile.
