Well, it happened not so long ago. Around ten years ago.

With a look of disappointment written all over her face, everyone would know right away Jennie was more than just fucking pissed. The girl was invited, or more like pressured, to attend her brother's wedding on the upcoming weekend. However, Jennie's girlfriend decided to break her up one day before the party.

Jennie was heartbroken, of course. The thing was she's more of mad rather than sad. The party was not just a regular party since her brother was marrying a high class socialite so it would be like a gala which would definitely be an opportunity for Jennie to spread her wings and get connections to grow her career. The worst part was she had to have a partner since she already promised her brother she would bring one.

"Hey, what's wrong with opening up?" Jisoo walked in to Jennie's room, handing her a glass of champagne. Jennie, who was sitting with her legs lying on the couch as well, took it immediately while looking frustrated. Rarely Jennie would forget on saying 'thank you' or at least gesturing a little about it, but that was such a stressful time.

"I mean you can always trust your brother. It's not like he'll kill you or something, right? Just tell him the truth that the fucking asshole broke you up this morning—over the phone too, like hello?—and you will be coming alone," said Jisoo, trying soothe her long time best friend.

"I wish it was that easy, Soo-ah. You know my brother is an overthinker. If I tell him right away, he will worry about me and my feelings instead of his wedding." Jennie sighed. "I just.. I just really can't do this right now."

"I still can't believe you got over her that easily though," mumbled Jisoo.

"I told you we weren't working out. I knew this was going to happen, but not this quick."

"And?"

"And it's way past it now and I'm too over it to beg her to come back, especially just for one specific event—which will make me look like the asshole instead."

"Okay, now let's just calm down and watch TV first instead of stressing out and make everything even more of a mess." Jisoo reached out for the TV remote, then immediately switched on Jennie's favorite sitcom.

For some minutes, they went silent.

Jennie had put away her champagne and phone, so did Jisoo. Jisoo's arm stretched over, while Jennie laid her head on Jisoo's arm and hugging her.

"I have a brilliant idea," said Jennie, all in a sudden.

Usually, when her idea pops up in random times like that, it's not a good sign. Jisoo's face reaction to Jennie's statement said it all.

Jisoo sighed. She turned off the TV to listen to Jennie. She leaned back and crossed her arms.

"Alright, let's hear what shenanigans are you up to now. What's your plan?"

"May I borrow you?"

"What?"

"What..?"

"Well, Jendeuk, what the fuck is that supposed to mean?!"

"Listen-"

"You better explain, ma'am. Please elaborate."

"So, let's fake date like you pretend to be my girlfriend and well it's just for the party, you know what I mean?"

"I think I perfectly get what you mean," replied Jisoo. Her eyes looked as if she was desperately in need of help, but her heart was screaming of joy.

"You... you don't look happy with my opinion."
