Park Chaeyoung. Her name already spoke for itself. She was an icon. She's the prettiest girl in her whole high school. The boys fell in love with her and the girls hated her. But some girls  wanted her too, and some boys were also jealous of her. As the head of the student council and the lead dancer of the school's dance club, she was sure envied by lots, even teachers. She was hot, she was cute, she was loved, she was hated, she was despised. It's almost like the whole high school's world revolved around her.

In spite of her fame, Chaeyoung stayed kind and humble. She was nice to everyone and lovely. She was also bright in her class and was helpful to all the friends around her. Sometimes, she would even give around lessons, from Math to guitar.

Meanwhile, Jennie Kim–Chaeyoung's younger half-sister–lived in quite the shadows. She was very lowkey, but somehow very much loved as well.

"Why should I envy her? I'm not the one with stalkers that keeps my family up at night," said Jennie, sipping her bubble tea. "Besides, I'm the prettier sister. She's just a little charming."

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say," replied Lisa, Jennie's best friend. She rolled her eyes and sighed.

Lisa never meant to fall for Park Chaeyoung.

Not in that very way, at least. Not the “stomach-flips-when-she-smiles” way. Not the “I-know-she’s-my-best-friend's-older-sister-but-maybe-I-love-her” way.

She thought she had it under control, but apparently not.

Lisa scoffed, sipping her own drink as she leaned back against the school's café booth. “You always act like she’s not a big deal, but everyone knows she’s the Park Chaeyoung.”

Jennie shrugged lazily. “Whatever. In my eyes, she’s just my sister anyways.”

Lisa rolled her eyes again, this time more playfully. She’d seen Chaeyoung around a few times—always swarmed by people, always smiling, hair catching the light like it was made of silk. She’d assumed Chaeyoung was just one of those people who were too much—too perfect, too loved, too unreachable.

But then, Chaeyoung walked into the café. The music in that café felt like a background music for her movie introduction. In Jennie's eyes, she might be just a regular person, but Lisa couldn't help but think she was some kind of goddess.

Chaeyoung was far too beautiful to be real for Lisa, somehow. Whenever she looked into her eyes, she found herself drowning, like she was drawn into the deep waters and its calling pulled her feet to not breathe above it anymore. Her mind travelled way too far whenever she saw Chaeyoung. It was not the kind of feeling that made Lisa's heart skip a beat, but made it beat way too fast to be comprehended. It was not the kind of feeling that made Lisa's stomach full of swarming butterflies, but rather pulling her guts apart and rearranging it into a system Lisa's body couldn't understand as well.

Lisa sat up straighter before she could stop herself.

Chaeyoung spotted them right away and waved. “Hey, Jennie. Lisa.”

Lisa nodded, too casually. “Sup.” Her mind raced. She wished she could drop the casualness without the tremble in her voice.

“Did you guys already order?” Chaeyoung asked, sliding into the booth beside Jennie.

“Yeah. I got you your usual,” Jennie replied, gesturing to the extra drink on the tray. “Taro, less sugar.”

Chaeyoung beamed. “You’re the best.”

"Cool. Even if you compliment me, you're still going to have to pay me," replied Jennie.

"Broke," she teased Jennie.
