The door flung open with a bang. "Wake up, princess," Jisoo yelled, flipping off Jennie's blanket. The girl stayed still, not moving an inch from her initial position. "It's three o'clock in the evening and you have been sleeping for at least twenty hours by now. Should I put you in a casket or will you wake up on your own?"
"Uh.. I'm still tired.."
"That's what happens to your body when you sleep more than supposed hours, you idiot," replied Jisoo as she sat on the side of Jennie's bed. Jennie might be an insanely genius kid who excelled so well that she was awarded a full ride scholarship in a STEM major in a huge name university, but in Jisoo's eyes, her little sister would forever be the annoying dumbass that used to cry for believing that eating fruits' seeds would cause them to grow a tree in her stomach. "God, I'll have so many more clothes to wear if you die."
Jennie groaned and got up immediately. "No, you won't. The moment I die, those clothes are going to be buried with me." It's quite easy to threaten Jennie with her beloved collection of glamorous outfits in her gigantic closet.
Jisoo just laughed. "This is why the moment you turn twenty one, you go to clubs instead of rotting in your bed for hours."
"Can't a girl have hobbies?"
"Your hobbies include shopping gowns that you never wear anywhere and sleeping until noon. Maybe it's time for you to have more," nagged Jisoo. Well, it's easy for Jisoo to say so since she didn't even go to university and her modelling life was quite a slow one where she could have a full day of just doing pilates, yoga, having a spa, and still going to clubs at night yet still generating money. "Anyways, mom said we're going to go out for dinner tonight with her friend's family. You in?"
Jennie thought to herself for a while.
"You haven't gone out of the house and breath the air outside for four days by now. It would be a nice trip out without having to spend money or do much that will trigger your muscle cramps," added Jisoo.
While Jisoo was absolutely right, Jennie was still exhausted from interacting with people after that one day she had as a guest speaker. Talking to her mom was already a tiring task, let alone someone else entirely unknown to her--strangers that she had never met before.
"Who are we meeting?"
"She said it's a surprise for me so I don't really know, but mom said this family's daughters are K-pop idols. I'm definitely going to check them out and see if they can let me in the international fashion industry as well," explained Jisoo thoroughly while her eyes were slightly begging Jennie to join her as well because she was a bit too embarrassed to talk it out on her own when she was just with her parents.
So, Jennie didn't have the heart to say no. She just shrugged and nodded.
"Whew! Alright, the dinner's at La Yeon, so you better get well prepared and stop wearing that stinky hoodie I've been seeing you wear since three weeks ago," replied Jisoo before getting up and walking out the door. "Oh, I almost forgot. The dinner's going to be at like seven, maybe? So, we're going at like six thirty or something. Dad's driving, so don't be late or you'll be lectured by mom."
As Jisoo left her bedroom and shut the door, Jennie was left alone with her own thoughts once again. Silence didn't creep in like it used to, but immediately wrapped her up like her unwashed hoodie. She sighed. She really didn't know whether it was a good idea to join her family like that.
After all, her relationship with her parents were a bit strained, especially since Jisoo was only her half sister and that their dad initially cheated on Jisoo's mom with her mom, which made Jisoo's mother her stepmother and God knows the kind of fights that could explode the moment Jisoo's mother spoke a word upon her even after years that their dad insisted their family took Jennie in after her mom's death upon birth. Although Jisoo was at first brainwashed to hate on Jennie by her own mom, she eventually realized that Jennie didn't partake on the mistakes that happened, so she accepted her wholly at their very young age and supported her through thick and thin. However, Jisoo's mom still couldn't fully digest the condition, therefore every once in a while, her built up anger blew up in Jennie's face while their dad could only sit and assess the situation. Jisoo would definitely defend Jennie every time that kind of thing happened, but that would cause the sisters to have a strained relationship with their parents.
