"Are you sure about your choice?" The witchy lady asked. Her rosy blonde hair started to glisten at the glimpse of her client, struggling to form the right answer to give. "I mean I will be glad to grant you, but will you be able to withstand all the consequences?" The woman smirked. Her eyes were sharp and sly, directed towards the one across her face.
Jisoo wanted so badly for Jennie to fall in love with her. She knew that she wouldn't be able to confess to her beloved friend anytime soon. So, she decided to just wish upon a star to finish this calamity.
Somehow, she stumbled upon a tarot-reading tent in the circus. There, she was met with a young sweet lady dressed in white, with blonde hair, and a golden crown like the queen of cups. She was beautiful and all in all lovely.
"Welcome to this humble tent, dear. Do you want to get your past, present, or future read?" The lady asked. Her smile was not at all eerie, but it felt a little rather odd.
Jisoo decided to take a step further. She thought nothing could go wrong anyways. It was just a simple card reading trick for entertainment, after all.
"Present."
The lady welcomed Jisoo to sit across her. There was a crystal ball on the table. Decks of various cards were neatly put on each slots on the table. The design was a tad bit too bohemian for Jisoo's taste, but really who cares?
"What's your name?"
"Jisoo, ma'am."
"Please, just call me Chaeyoung," replied the reader in a relaxed manner.
The woman immediately randomized the cards in a quick motion using her muscle memories. On the table, she laid the cards in the form of a curved line. "Pick a card, my dear," said the woman.
Jisoo chose the fourth card from her left. Chaeyoung, the reader, picked it from the table.
"High Priestess, reversed. You might have a repressed intuition, hidden motives, superficiality, confusion, cognitive dissonance. When it comes to the High Priestess reversed, it can mean that you are finding it difficult to listen to your intuition. Something has been telling you to follow your gut, but you may be ignoring the call. There is a lot of confusion around you, and your actions may feel contrary to what you know is right."
Jisoo gulped her own spit. Had she been read falsely, she would have just laughed at the moment, but she truly had been read by this random woman she randomly found in a random circus and she was dumbfounded.
"It's your love life," stated Chaeyoung. She didn't even ask, but rather expressed. It was not a matter to be questioned apparently and that made Jisoo crazy. "Do not repress your feelings, darling. It can only come so far when repressed, but freeing it, my dear Jisoo, might give you the chance to not loathe your life even further."
Silence fell between the two.
"Well, but it's just a card, isn't it? We can just turn it upright, can't we?" Chaeyoung asked, her smile turned into a smirk. "How about I help you, sweet Jisoo?"
"What do I have to do?"
Chaeyoung chuckled a little. "You have something that I want." Chaeyoung reached for Jisoo's gold necklace. "The last fragment of the necklace of harmonia," she murmured.
"Well, your necklace and a little courage is all you need..." Chaeyoung slightly brushed her fingers against Jisoo's. "And maybe, Jennie will approach you first instead of you having to confess."
"How do you know her name?!" Jisoo stood up in shock. She truly had been bewitched.
"You have quite a simple mind. The wires in your head aren't that hard to entangle," scoffed Chaeyoung. "So, the question is to do or to not do? You can always confess in a very natural and traditional demeanor or I can help you with a little–well, you know, 'sprinkle sprinkle spell'–and make your life way easier."
