Ever since my last encounter with Akito, I've been trying to keep my distance. It wasn't that anything changed, and I don't feel I've gotten bolder. But it isn't a good thing because Akito believes that I have.

Avoiding her wasn't always successful. I'd sometimes pass her in the hallways or accidentally bump into her while doing chores.

This didn't help since I was her personal maid. I had been getting other maids to deliver Akito's meals, clothes, bedding, etc. I've even asked Hatori some times. Unfortunately for me, he caught on.

"You can't keep this up, Y/n. Akito seems to be getting frustrated." He mentioned with a worried tone.

I sighed and crossed my arms, slightly leaning my head back. "I understand, she's just— creepy." I explained as he awkwardly smiled. Staring up at him, I tilted my head and frowned. "Okay, Tori. I'll face her head on." I held up my fists jokingly as he put his hand over them.

"You make it sound like the two of you are going to fight." He mumbled. "You never know." I stated. "Y/n." He said sternly as I put my hands up in defeat. "I'm playing."

Taking Hatori's advice, later that day, I decided to deliver her lunch without avoiding her this time.

I knocked on the door in which no one answered. Thinking for a moment she probably wasn't here and I got lucky, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned to see the Sohma head standing beside me.

"You're finally making an appearance." She opened her room door as I followed her inside. "Here's your lunch." I set her tray down on her table.

She sat down and looked up at me. I looked down at her for a second before walking to her basket of clothes. "Need something else?" I raised an eyebrow as I began folding her clothes.

She shook her head and began eating. She was being wonderfully quiet. It was basically music to my ears.

Though I felt Akito's eyes piercing through my skull.

"I feel like you've got something to say." I turned to looked at her. She looked down at her food and started poking at it. I tried to figure out what exactly was going on.

I sat down across from her and leaned my cheek down to my hand. "You okay? You aren't sick or anything, right?" I asked, a bit concerned. "I am not sick." She shot a glare as I put my hands up like before. "I'm just checking on you. Don't you wanna insult me or something?" I snickered as she stared at her food.

She scoffed and began eating once again. I jokingly sighed and began my chores once again while she ate.

I felt like there was something genuinely upsetting her. It wasn't my biggest issue, but it kind of bothered me. "Okay, what's up with you?" I turned back to her, placing a hand on my hip. She looked up at me and squinted her eyes.

"Don't get upset with me. I'm doing this for Hatori!" She yelled out of nowhere. "Wh— doing what for Hatori??" I questioned.

"He told me that I should start being nicer to you, that way you'd stop leaving me alone." She said angrily. I couldn't believe my ears. She was trying to be kinder.

"Right, I'm sorry for that." I sat down and looked at her as she glanced at me. I could tell she was holding back.

"Say whatever you need to say." I stated, ready to listen.
