Carolina Garza-Montenegro- Cuban (mother); Mexican (father); Carolina Garza-Montenegro is an intelligent and open-minded young woman who is relatively insightful when advising others due to the self-knowledge she has gained from her own experiences. She has a sweet, comforting, and empathetic personality and is often seen as a "cool big sis" by her younger cousins Erick and Yvonne Montenegro. She is described by others as honest, kind and fair and considered the type of person not to lie, steal or cheat. Her family moved from Amarillo, Texas to Virginia during her junior year of high school upon her father's promotion to head personnel at the George Mason University, bringing her closer to her aunt and cousins despite the changes that the drastic move to a different state brought about. Although she is usually a pacific person, Carolina also has her limits and can appear irritable when she is pushed too far, as she has shown excellent demonstrations of good judgment with the law and acute suspicions of law-breaking. People are drawn to her rational demeanor and willingness to be true to herself, although she often doesn't hold her tongue and ends up saying mean things without intending to. She likewise very caring and compassionate, as well as self-righteous, and often seeks justice for those whom have been wronged or persecuted. She strongly believes in promoting equality for all and demanding that she and others be treated with the respect they deserve, and she is seen a a natural leader and communicator. While Carolina is not particularly popular within her social circles, she is known for having a small, steady group of friends whom she considers her true companions. She also cherishes quality time spent with her family and as an only child, has a good relationship with her parents, whom she often regards as "two of her best friends."
Despite having had past romantic encounters with different boys throughout her high school and college years, she has yet to have had a serious boyfriend and at age 23 has not experienced asexual encounter with a boy, with her longest and presumably only relationship to date having lasted a mere two months. She yearns to find true love, but tends to go with the flow and has an easygoing approach when it comes to romance, claiming "everything will fall in place at the right time." Carolina and Erick joined together one year to put on a winter production for their neighbors, during which her younger cousin's strong juggling abilities became evident. She also goes to a banquet after she is nominated for the "Rising Star" award, in addition to visiting some anime shops with her at the mall that is located downtown. At one point, she volunteers at a hospital, where she works under a case manager in the social work department and does simple tasks such as assembling folders and shadowing employees. She is the first one to learn about her classmate Sarai's surprise pregnancy at 23, but keeps it secreted at her request, and learns new recipes from the local food bank. As a person diagnosed with latent autoimmune diabetes, otherwise known LADA or "diabetes type 1.5", in early adulthood, Carolina also tries to eat healthily, limiting her sweet intake and describing herself as a "pescatarian" who adds fish and seafood to her vegetarian diet. Although sometimes suffering from fatigue and struggles with inflammation, among other negative side effects of her disease, she tries to manage her symptoms with positivity. Despite not being particularly athletic, she was also a member of her college's intramural soccer team and enjoyed participating in ping-pong matches against her peers.
She also strengthens herself through weightlifting and participating in flexibility activities that include stretching and occasional yoga. Carolina has previously completed a bachelor's in psychology under her father's suggestion that she pursue a "practical" career choice, and she has demonstrated a passion for working with small children. She also has a secret earnest desire to discover undisclosed aspects of herself and learn more about others and the motivations that lead them to behave the way they do. She participated in a religious sorority as an undergraduate and was also involved in a college afterschool club that brought attention to the growing number of Hispanic youths at the university, particularly those of Mexican descent. She tutors students in her spare time as an SI instructor for statistics and seems to have an aptitude for understanding math as well. Carolina has long dark brown hair that curls slightly at the bottom and is often worn either loose or swept back in a tousled half updo, small, almond-shaped brown eyes, a youthful, oval-shaped face, and a light complexion. She also has a full, healthy figure at 5 ft. 4 in and 129 lbs and continues to remain fit by adding light aerobic excerises into her regime and preparing nutritious meals. Although having lived with her parents throughout her undergraduate college years as a means of "saving money", she currently works at a part-time job as a sales associate at a local TJ Maxx store while trying to complete her studies. A graduate of George Mason University, she has currently finished her first semester of graduate school in New York University. Carolina is a self-proclaimed feminist, aspires to work for a non-profit organization that empowers young girls upon completing her master's in social work.
She has enormous pride in her Hispanic heritage and has visited Mexico City several times to stay with her relatives and explore the surrounding scenery during the summer. She lives with her two closest friends, a fellow Hispanic student named Asalie Reyes-Navarro and a young woman of Japanese and Russian descent named Hotaru Smirnow, along with two other girls in a large off-campus apartment in New York City. While she enjoys being close to home, she discovered a love of nature after having spent two years in the Peace Corps as an undergraduate, during which she traveled to Madagascar. It's important for Carolina to stay tuned into the present moment and take time to stop and "smell the roses" that already exist instead of the ones that could exist someday. She secretly yearns to live a peaceful life among the mountains of Utah or Colorado, potentially in a rural setting near Salt Lake City or Denver. She eventually marries a handsome archeologist of Mexican and Greek descent that she meets in her 30s during a trip to Cabo San Lucas named César. The couple gives birth to a daughter named Rocio and a son named Stavros after César's grandfather. Carolina moves to the suburbs of Littleton, Colorado with him after she receives a job offer to work as a social worker for Littleton Public Schools in the southern Denver metropolitan area. She also participates in her communities blood drive and determines that her blood type is AB, in addition to talking a life saving class. She is contemplating on going back to school to earn her doctorate and plans on potentially becoming a child psychologist in the future. She is also in the process of adopting a little girl from Ukraine with her husband and continues to promote unity among the people she encounters through her career as a social worker. ENFJ 2w1
