Chapter 44

Jack Johnson's Point Of View 

I sniffled letting the tears just freely escape my eyes. My best friend just died in front of me and I couldn't help him. I can't describe how much I hated myself for the death of my best friend, my family, my brother. I turned around to see the house that one stood there was now engulfed in flames.

 As my eyes skimmed over the house in flames my eyes fell upon a body laying on the ground. I stared at him loving the events that took place of how I killed him. He deserved every bit of what he got. He deserved to rot in hell. For he took the only family I had left. I took one more glance at the house remembering my best friends body was still in there. Never will I ever forget him.

Matt's Point Of View 

I slammed through the house immediately laying Genova on the couch. I couldn't stand looking at her any longer. It was my fault that she was in this state. If I have saved her earlier she wouldn't be like this. Her body was covered in bruises and cuts, dry blood all over the corner of her mouth, her nose and her stomach.

The colour of pale whitish green was planted all over her body. Even for a vampire she was pale. I put my ear against her chest trying to find her heart beat but it was all silence except for a little vein that pump the blood going through her heart. She was barely alive.

Genova's eyes weakly opened scanning my face with a weak little smile trying to pull through. ' Genova baby you have to stay strong for me okay ? Gilinsky is on his way and he's gonna help you '  I cooed brushing my thumb over her cheek repeatedly trying to get her comfortable as much as I could.

I didn't know when everyone was gonna come back honestly. In Genova's state Im praying they were coming soon. I don't know how much longer Genova can hold on. ' It's gonna be okay ' I whispered holding in my tears as I placed a kiss on her forehead as softly as I could trying not to hurting her.

As I pulled away from Genova I remembered I had the tiny little capsule that could save her in my very pocket. I quickly pulled it out and held it in my hands gazing at it. All I had to do was break it open and make Genova drink the cure inside it and she would be okay.

I held it between my finger tips ready to break it into two to save Genova but then a pair of cold hands grabbed it away from grasp. Along with a cold sharp knife piercing my heart.....

Genova's Point Of View 

I knew I was close to dying that feeling of pure peace surrounded my body like Lia explained. 

Flashback

I squeezed onto her hand not wanting to accept the fact that she was gonna leave my life forever, she was the closest thing I had to family ever since mom got into the vampire council and was rarely home. If she leaves I wasn't gonna have anyone left. 'G-Genova ? ' She whispered catching my attention ' Y-yes Lia ? '

I sniffled looking straight into her eyes that were already filled with tears ' when I leave  I want you to stay strong okay ? ' she whispered breathing heavily with every word that left her lips. ' But I don't want you to leave ' I whispered finally letting the tears glide down my face.

Lia took a deep breath before answering. ' There's nothing else I can do Genova I-I'm dying and we can't stop t-that ' Lia whispered squeezing my hand reassuringly. ' Promise me you wont let yourself go and you'll keep living your life ' Lia pleaded. My eyebrows knitted together as I started to feel pain.

' How do you expect me to live my life normally again when your gone Lia ?! Your the only thing I have left and your gonna leave me here in this cold cruel world that's not fair ' I yelled not caring who heard me.

Lia's eyes struck with hurt and her lips pursed together ' what do you want me to do Genova we both knew that this was gonna happen I can't stop myself from dying you think your the only one that's gonna get hurt do you think I'm not gonna die inside when I leave and don't have my little sister by my side ever again, you think I won't feel guilty

that my little sister is gonna be living in this big world by herself ? so don't you dare put this all on me ' Lia cried. I closed my eyes wiping the tears on my cheeks that were starting to dry. I heard Lia sigh. ' I'm sorry Genova I love you so much but I didn't choose to die ' Lia said pulling me into a hug

' I love you Genova you will always be my little sister ' Lia whispered kissing my forehead and with that the grip she had around me loosened and her arms  dropped  down.....

She was gone

I pursed my lips together as the tears vigorously glided down my face. I squeezed onto her cold body snuggling my face into her neck. I promise Lia I promise.....

End Of Flashback

The memory of Lia burned a hole into my head I felt really weak and I felt my heart beat slower and slower. My eyes widened as I fluttered my eyes open to meet  Matthew's face . He was alive. His vampire glow hit me realising he turned. As my eyes scanned over his face he had worried ness and sorrow in his eyes.

His eyes were a shade of red replacing his original chocolate brown eyes, his two vampire teeth were sharp and long and his skin wasn't the same olive tan type he had, it was pale and glowing. My eyes trailed down to his neck seeing the two bites that Madison had left was now gone. Dumb bitch

' Y-you turned ' I whispered weakly lifting up my hand caressing his cheek. My lips curved into a smile as Matt's eyes fluttered close leaning his head on my hand ' Im one of you now ' Matt whispered sitting down next to me. I just smiled and pulled his head down planting a kiss on his soft plump lips. I almost forgot the way they felt on mine 

As our lips moved in sync Matt's eyes suddenly widened in the kiss pulling something out of his back pocket. I went to see what it was but a shadow emerged behind Matthew making my eyes go wide. I opened my mouth to warn Matt but a sudden pang of pain over took my body making me bite my lip in pain silencing me.

Matt's eyes stared right into mine ' what's wrong Genova ?! ' Matt panicked. My focus on Matt soon disappeared as the persons lips curved into a devilish smile. And with that Matt's mouth dropped open and blood started to ooze out of his heart .....
