Chapter 16

Genova's Point Of View 

I knew mortals were often presented with movies that features the supernatural. Some loved those types of films and some didn't. You'd think that because they are exposed to stories and films about these mythical creatures that you'd  think, huh maybe if they saw them in real life they wouldn't be as terrified. 

But boy are we wrong. The way Matt's eyes were filled with fear just made me feel even more terrible about the situation I was currently in. I knew that we often had to be careful about humans discovering what we were, but was it always this hard to keep it away from them ?. Trying to keep Matt unaware of us seemed so easy in my head when in reality it was the most difficult thing to do in the world...

 ' Genova you shouldn't feel bad about this, he's the one that followed us, he brought this to himself ' Nash cooed rubbing my back as he hugged me to his chest. ' I knowIt's just, we tried to hard to keep him oblivious to this world but he ended up finding out anyway, all that month by himself was for nothing' I sniffled rubbing my eyes. 

' Matt doesn't want anything to do with me anymore ' I sighed. ' Maybe thats a good thing ? he'll keep quiet about what he saw ' Mahogany muttered rubbing my back. ' I dont know guys everything just seemed way better when he wasn't around ' I muttered.

This whole situation with Matt made me feel like shit. I know everyone was telling me that I shouldn't feel this way, but I just couldn't help it. I hated that some mortals are presented with our world. They become so consumed with the unknown they start to lose how they once were, how the once lived. They will never be the same again. 

I stared up at my ceiling just letting my thoughts consume. I was so deep into my thoughts when I was suddenly jolted awake when someone came bursting into my room through my balcony. ' I really need to start locking my doors ' I said turning around to see Cameron.

' You really do Gen you know with all the enemy shit that's happening, but that's not why I'm here are you okay? ' Cameron chuckled. ' Yeah ' I muttered sitting up. ' No your not ' Cameron sighed joining me on my bed as he pulled me into his lap. I just couldn't take it anymore I was so consumed with my thoughts.. they were haunting me. 

' M-Matt called me a monster Cameron ' I cried. ' Genova don't cry baby he was just shocked, how would you feel if something supernatural that you believed to be not true unravelled right before your eyes ' Cameron asked rubbing my back. ' I would be scared ' I sighed. ' Exactly so give Matt some time and he'll see that our not a monster. Your just a girl that's kind and loving and maybe a little savage ' Cameron chuckled in a soothing voice.

  ' Thanks Cameron your the best ' I said kissing his cheek ' Im always gonna be here for you Genova. I will always be right behind you ready to protect you, ill never allow you to ever feel like the world is against you ' Cameron whispered placing a kiss on my forehead. I just sighed in response allowing Cameron to comfort me. 

' So you want to be alone or you want some company ? ' Cameron asked ' As much as I'm loving the massage your giving me can I be alone please ' I whispered laughing at the end. ' Okay, ill let you be for now but don't do anything you'll regret while I'm gone ' Cameron said. ' What am I gonna do kill myself ? ' I joked arching an eyebrow up. Cameron shot me a worried look making me chuckle. 

'  Im already dead Cameron ' I said flashing my fangs watching as Cameron's facial structure relaxed. '  You know what Cameron ? with moments like these Ive always wondered how you managed to stay alive for all these years ' I giggled closing my balcony doors flicking the lock as Cameron exited. 

' Yeah I wonder that too but then again your the one that asked me if unicorns were real ' Cameron muttered recalling a memory that occurred a long time ago. ' Okay relax that was when I found out Vampires first existed '  I explained. ' That isn't helping your defence baby girl ' Cameron smiled leaning on the railings. 

' Yes it does, I figured since Vampires are real maybe unicorns were too since they were mythical as well ' I explained. Cameron just sent a chuckle my way before speeding off my balcony in the direction of his house. Loser I thought I heard that Cameron thought back. Shit I laughed....
