Nueng put his index finger over the mouth of the person he was addressing, who remained dumbfounded. But not motionless. And even less insensitive.

Proving once again that he had definitely abandoned the idea of thinking before acting for today, the basketball player leaned forward, until his face was above Nueng's, slightly tilted backwards, with only the pianist's fingers between them. Certainly, Palm hadn't heard the last of it. To his greatest confusion.

After a few moments, Nueng left his mouth to focus on his neck and torso. Palm followed the fleshy part of his fingers trace his contours with such a fascination that it was driving him completely crazy.

If Nueng was wishing to test his nervous resistance, it was mission accomplished, by far. And when the one he was supposed to see as his boss only let out a sigh which expressed a lot about his own state of mind of the moment, Palm moved his face closer, and closer, as if he was answering to a silent call that only the two of them would be able to understand.

The former fisherman was about to give himself up completely to Nueng when the bedroom door opened wide, causing him and Palm to be equally surprised. Like a guilty man caught red-handed in the middle of a crime, the latter sank into his seat. Then he hurriedly joined hands to greet the one who had stormed into the room, namely Nueng's mom, who obviously only had eyes for her son. She rushed to his bedside when he turned his head to her, still looking a little sleepy:

"My son!"

"Mom..." Nueng replied with a faint smile.

Khun Tanya grabbed her son's hand and wrapped it around hers. Seeing him like this in that bed, with that bandage around his head, tore her heart apart.

"I got there as fast as I could. Chanon told me that you lost consciousness?"

"That's right," said Nueng in a small voice, because he didn't like the idea of worrying his mother, who already had a lot to think about

"That's right," said Nueng in a small voice, because he didn't like the idea of worrying his mother, who already had a lot to think about. "But I'm fine now, I'm slowly recovering."

Tanya smiled tenderly at him as she stroked the back of her son's hand with her fingertips, a gesture that ultimately served to soothe both of them.

"Did you get to see the doctor?" she asked, addressing both her son and the one accompanying him. "What did he say?"
