The first rays of sunlight coming through the curtains of Nueng's room, which had also become that of Palm, for one night or maybe more, made the young man squint. The daylight came to warm both of his and Palm's naked bodies, which were still numb after their quite disturbed night sleep, while Nueng, who was slowly coming out of his dreams, was left with a bitter-sweet feeling as he began to think clearly again. On the one hand, it comforted him to see that nothing had changed from the day before. Or rather, they had, many things had been different, and this, since he had offered his heart and his body to the person who was at the heart of his thoughts for so long. What hadn't changed since that moment when their bodies were passionately reunited was Palm's place however. He was still lying next to him on his bed, whose condition he didn't even dare to check, his arm resting on his belly, rising to the rhythm of a slow, calming breath. But on the other hand, as he heard the first sounds of the day in the house, meaning that his personnel was already supposedly at work, Nueng realized with regret that peaceful interlude of Palm and him was about to come to its conclusion. Which was too sudden and cruel. If he had known, he would not have slept during those few hours he had had the possibility to rest. At least he would have been able to enjoy Palm's presence until the end, when he was still only his.As he was unable to resist the temptation to caress his skin now that he still had the opportunity to do so, Nueng tentatively folded his fingers, which had remained on Palm's chest, with extreme caution, so as not to risk disturbing his sleep. The sensation made him smile instantly and he raised his head towards his lover, eager to enjoy the view to the full, which was a brand new one for him, but which had already totally defeated him. He believed he would find him as sound asleep, just like when he had left him a few seconds before, however, everything did not happen exactly as he would have expected.
Because Palm had not only opened his eyes now, but they were also observing him. But as soon as Nueng was about to open his mouth to react, Palm nonetheless closed them again right way.
It had lasted only a fraction of a second, as ephemeral as the flutter of a butterfly's wing, but Nueng's expert eye, sensitive to his slightest change of expression, no matter how small, had quickly spotted it. And so did he with the slight sneer that had appeared at the corner of his plumped, tempting lips.
"I know you are not asleep anymore," Nueng scolded him gently, as he came to rest his head on his chest. "Stop pretending."
Palm lifted an eyelid just out of curiosity, and his enthusiasm immediately grew tenfold when he discovered that Nueng was staring at him with high interest."Apparently, I'm not the only one," Palm remarked, seeming not in the least offended by what his current roommate had said.
Nueng gently pinched his cheek to punish him for trying to play smart with him, before suddenly starting to giggle helplessly.
"Why are you laughing?" asked Palm, not understanding why he was now hiding his head in his neck, still feeling partially sleepy.
"...You have such big dark circles under your eyes, that's something," Nueng replied, giving him a mocking sideways glance.
