We all walked inside and sat down, and Sammy looked at my leg that I was limping on. I had on shorts, and he saw the scar.

"One of the places I was shot, I had to do surgery on myself to get the bullet out. Hit a nerve." I said and Sammy groaned.

"Where else were you shot?" Sammy asked.

"Like you care!" I said annoyed.

"I do care! I thought you died!" Sammy yelled.

"You didn't come to check on me, get my body back for my family! Give them peace!" I yelled and Sammy groaned.

"I went to told them you died a hero, I made sure and still make sure they are taken care of." Sammy said and I just hung my head as tears filled my eyes.

"How is my dad? He wasn't in the best of health when I left." I said and Sammy gave a small smile.

"He is good Jo, he is getting better. The doctors found some medication that seems to be helping him." Sammy said and I just gave a small smile.

"And my sister?" I asked and Sammy looked down at his hands on the table. Sensing tension someone else spoke up.

"I'm Ari Levinson, I'm leader of this new mission." He said extending his hand and I sighed shaking his hand.

"Nice to meet you, all of you really. Sorry about Sammy and I. Old habits and history." I said and they all nodded. "So, what sent you here?" I asked.

"Well, we bought the place. Part of the mission. We have the resort to help with the smuggling and we want to get more refuges out." Ari said and I just huffed a laugh.

"Just like that. Going to get refugees out..." I said and Ari just looked at me.

"I mean we know it will take work, time, effort and planning." Ari said and I just nodded.

"It will take a hell of a lot of planning. The terrorists are still around, still tend to come back and check the place out..." I said and Sammy groaned.

"Jo, Ari has on good intel that they are sitting in a refugee camp, ready to go. We just have to get them." Sammy said and I chuckled.

"Why is this funny to you?" Ari asked.

"I never said it was funny, I'm actually chuckling at how easy you think this will be." I said and Ari groaned as did Sammy.

"It worked last time." Sammy said.

"UNTIL IT DIDN'T!" I yelled standing up. I took a deep breath and looked at the entire crew.

"Listen you bought this place, it's yours, I have been squatting here because I had nowhere else to go. You want me out I will leave, go somewhere, try and get home. Just let me know, but please know I will not be a part of this smuggling operation. I'm not the agent I used to be." I said and walked away. I walked to my room and slammed the door shut.

I wasn't in my room alone long when Sammy came walking in and shut the door.

"Knock Sammy!" I yelled and he raised his hands in defeat.

"I just want to talk. I want to explain what happened 6 months ago." Sammy said and I groaned.

"Why?" I asked.

"So, you can see I didn't just leave you." Sammy said and I groaned. I sat on the bed and rubbed my scar, it was hurting. He noticed and sat beside me. He looked closer at the scare. "You really did a hack job." He said and I gave a small smile.

"I had to do surgery in an underground bunker, on myself. Sorry it's not perfect doctor." I said and he smiled. "Sammy what happened?" I asked.

"When I saw you get taken down, I tried jumping off the raft to swim to you, but I was held back. Once we got to the main boat, I told everyone you were left behind and we needed to get to you. I was told a rescue mission was underway to come and get you but then nothing was done. I tried Jo, God knows I tried, and I wanted to come back. I even tried coming back on my own, but I couldn't get the travel figured out since it wasn't safe." Sammy explained and I just shook my head.

"I was scared Sammy, I had no way home." I said as tears filled my eyes.

"I know...I'm so sorry Jo." Sammy said and he pulled me into a hug. Soon we released since I knew I couldn't fall into this with him again. As I pulled away from him, I saw the necklace he had on, and I just looked at him.

"Sammy..." I said and I pointed to the gold chain with the initial K on it. "That looks just like my sister Kelsie's." I said and Sammy dropped his head.

"Jo..."

"Why do you have Kelsie's necklace Sammy?!"

Sammy just sighed and then looked at me.

"Kelsie and I got engaged a month ago." Sammy said. I sat there in shock feeling a lump in my throat.

"You what?"

"When I went and told them that you weren't coming back and what happened Kelsie and I got close, really close. We found solace in each other in our grief for you..." Sammy said, and I shook my head not waiting to hear anymore.

"So, you left me for dead and moved on to my sister. At least you kept it in the family." I said and stood up.

"Jo..."

"Don't talk your way out of this Sammy, you can't. Be with my sister, fine, I'll stay here and pretend to be dead to not upset whatever you have going." I said and went to walk out of the room.

"Where are you going?" Sammy asked.

"Somewhere away from you for the moment. I can't be around you or your team right now. I liked my solitude. I want it back." I said and left my room, leaving Sammy sitting there.
