I was sitting at the breakfast table the next morning after taking a quick shower. I had the envelope I was giving by the Seals the night before and I just sighed. Ari was still asleep, and I let him sleep, he needed it. Other than our activities when we got back last night he hadn't been sleeping much. I was staring at the envelope and eating the eggs Nettie brought me.
"Hey." I heard Sammy say walking up to me and sitting down.
"Hey."
Sammy pointed to the envelope.
"You going to open it? You already know who it's from..." Sammy said, and I nodded.
"Yeah, but I don't know if I want to know what is being said." I said and he sighed.
"What could possibly be said you don't want to hear?" Sammy asked and I looked at him.
"Gee I don't know...maybe how she -...never mind. I'm done bringing it up, I've moved on, you've moved on whatever." I said and Sammy groaned.
"Yeah, I heard you move on last night..." Sammy said.
"Oh, I'm sorry am I supposed to be celibate? Waiting for you to come back?" I asked and Sammy just hung his head. I grabbed the envelope and dumped open the contents seeing Sammy's letter in an envelope. Also a passport and paperwork for me with my old identity. Nothing saying I was Guys wife but we could come up with something if asked.
"Here, this was in there for you." I said and Sammy took it from me. I finished eating and grabbed my letters.
"Where are you going?" Sammy asked.
"I want to be alone when I read these." I said and walked outside.
I sat in my normal spot on the beach and laid the envelopes beside me. I wasn't sure how long I had been sitting there when I felt someone sit beside me and kiss my shoulder. I looked and saw Ari.
"Sammy tell you I want to be left alone?" I asked and Ari nodded.
"He did, do you really want to be left alone? I can leave if you do." Ari said and I sighed grabbed the envelopes.
"I don't know...I know I need to read them, but I have been gone so long. Am I going to like what I read?" I asked.
"You are thinking the worst, you thinking they would send you bad news? They find out you're alive Jo, they are over the moon, I'm sure." Ari said and I placed my head on his shoulder and wiped away the single tear I had falling down.
"You stay while I read?" I asked and he nodded. I grabbed the one envelope, and it was my dad's writing. I smiled and quickly opened it. I pulled out the letter and something else fell out and it was a picture of my dad and I before I left for my first mission. I started tearing up instantly and Ari saw the picture and took it from me and smiled. I unfolded the paper and read it out loud.
"Jo,
I can't believe you're alive after all this time. This was probably the best news I could ever receive in my entire life. This compares next to the day I found out you were coming into my life. When Sammy told us you were gone, I felt my heart shatter, but I also still felt my connection with you, so I didn't understand it. I won't sit here and act like I know what you went through or what you have gone through or hell even what you will continue to go through, just know when it's all over and you get to come home...life will be complete again.
I know hearing the news about Sammy and your sister couldn't have been easy. They did become close after your "death". I tried advising them both against dating when I saw it starting. I told your sister it wasn't right, but she said she can't fight love. I told Sammy proposing also wasn't smart but here we are. I know you and Sammy were planning your future and if you find love again while working together, you need to pursue it. He was yours first. If you don't love him anymore and you are letting Kelsie have him, then let him go. He was still hung up on you, at least I think he is.
Just come home to us, we can be a family again and you can find a guy, have a normal life for once. I just want you to come home Jordan, you hear me...COME HOME!
I love you and I will see you when the mission is complete.

I smiled when I finished the letter, and I took the picture from Ari.
"Right before I left on the first mission Dad insisted on throwing me a going away dinner. Not many people since I couldn't talk about the mission. But Dad, Kelsie, Sammy and I had a great time. Dad has us take this picture, so he had something to look at current and remember me by. He never would have sent me that if he thought I wasn't coming home." I explained and Ari smiled at me.
"You are going home Jo...I swear to you, I will do everything I can to get you home." Ari said and I smiled as he leaned down and kissed me. He smiled as we broke apart. "He wants you to find a guy..." Ari said, and I laughed.
"Yeah well...surprise!" I said and Ari laughed. I then grabbed the other letter and groaned.
"You sure you want to read it?" Ari asked and I sighed.
"I know I have to..." I trailed off but I looked back at the resort.
"I think I need to read it with Sammy..." I said and Ari sighed but nodded. I got up, leaned down and kissed Ari as I walked back to the resort. Sammy was sitting at the table, and I sighed. I sat down and he looked at me as he folded up Kelsie's letter.
"You read yours yet?" Sammy asked and I shook my head.
"I read dads, but I thought I would read Kelsie's with you." I said and Sammy nodded. I opened the letter and sighed.
"Jordan,
When Ethan came and told us you were alive to say I would say shock was an understatement. My older sister was still alive. Then I got thinking about it, I knew if anyone was stubborn enough to live through being shot it would be you.
Listen, I know you know about Sammy and me. I also know it couldn't have been easy to hear. We can't help who we love Jordan, and you need to understand that. You know I also liked Sammy when you had him, but I was willing to hide all of that and let you have a life. With you gone though...I figured there was not point I couldn't try my hand now.
I need you to know something though Jordan. SAMMY IS MINE NOW! Do you understand me?! I don't know what the conditions are where you are, but I want you away from Sammy. He loves me Jordan, not you! Don't take the one good thing out of my life. You being older always got everything, give me this one damn thing! You take him away from me I will never forgive you.

"Well, she certainly liked making it all about her." I said and Sammy huffed a laugh and I sighed. I looked up at Sammy.
"I have to let you go Sammy." I said.
"I thought you had Jo?" Sammy asked and I shook my head.
"Not technically, no. Sammy, I know you have Kelsie and everything, but you still had a piece of my heart, but I need it back from you. You have Kelsie and love her. I'm with Ari now Sammy. I'm letting you go. As of right now we are nothing but mission partners and semi friends. Other than that, you don't worry about my life, and I don't worry about you. It's over and done Sammy." I said and he half nodded.
"I'm sorry for how it played out Jo." Sammy said and I huffed a laugh.
"No, you're not, please don't lie. You can have your life with my sister." I said and Sammy looked at me.
"And you? What does life hold for you?" Sammy asked. I looked up and saw Ari come walking in and I smiled.
"I guess we just wait and see" I said.
