"Wake up..." Alena entered Kevin's room, to get him ready for school. She was even surprised that the boy was not up and about yet.

"Kevin." She felt for his forehead.

"What's wrong honey?" She hugged him to her and felt a fever forming.

"Uh-oh, no school today, I guess." The boy nodded.

He was actually excited to get away from the bullying for a while. And he was also glad that his mother was not pastering him to talk about how it started.

Oops, he spoke too soon. Lena asked about it just as she sat him down on the kitchen table to serve him breakfast.

Kevin fidgeted in his seat, not wanting to relive the torment that he faced every day at school. He lowered his head, staring at his bowl of cereal as Lena prodded him with questions.

"Come on, honey. You can tell me. Maybe we can figure out a way to make it stop," Lena said, placing a hand on his arm.

Kevin shook his head, "It won't stop. They're too mean."

Lena's heart broke at her son's defeated tone, "We can't let them win. I'll talk to the principal again and we can come up with a plan."

Kevin looked up at her with a glimmer of hope in his eyes, "Really?"

"Of course, honey. I won't let them hurt you anymore," Lena promised, giving him a reassuring smile.

Kevin was hesitant to talk about it, but he knew he couldn't keep it bottled up inside forever. With a deep sigh, he began to tell his mother everything.

"It all started with a picture I drew in art class," he explained. "It was just a silly doodle, but the other kids saw it and started making fun of me. They called me names and pushed me around. I tried to ignore them, but it just got worse and worse."

Alena listened intently, her heart breaking for her son. She knew how cruel kids could be, but it still hurt to see her child suffering.

"Kevin, you don't have to put up with that kind of treatment," she said firmly. "We can talk to your teacher and the school counselor. They can help you deal with the bullying and make sure it doesn't happen again."

Kevin nodded, relieved to have his mother's support.

"And you're sure it's not about your Dad?" Lena asked, hesitant.

The topic of 'Dad' was a sour one at their household, that was why Kevin was not sure how to ask.

Kevin hesitated before answering, his eyes flickering with uncertainty. "I don't know," he admitted, twisting the spoon in his bowl of cereal. "I mean, they never say anything specific about him, but I think they know he's not around and they use that against me."

Lena's heart ached at her son's words. She knew how hard it was for him to grow up without a father, especially with the added pressure of being bullied at school. "Kevin, you know that your father left before you were even born. It has nothing to do with you or who you are as a person."

"I know," Kevin said, but Lena could see the doubt in his eyes.

"Listen to me," Lena said, grasping Kevin's hand. "You are a strong, smart, and talented young boy. You have so much potential, and I know that one day, you'll be able to overcome this."

Kevin looked up at her, eyes shining with love and a little tear.

"Now stop crying, eat your breakfast and we'll go to the store together." Kevin gasped.

"I get to go with you?! Thank you mummy." He finished his food and ran back to his room to get dressed, one could almost think he was not running a fever earlier.

Lena chuckled, but glad that they have talked about important things.

The mother and son walked hand in hand, after alighting from the bus.

"Now, I will be you to stay in one place and don't disturb anyone please." Lena kissed his head.

"of course, mummy, I promise." He has been there once and knew exactly where to stay to not cause trouble for his mother with her Boss.

"Hey, good morning, I will be..." Like that, Lena's day went on.

Asher, who was on yet another date, places his face in his palm, bored of the lady sitting across from him.

"How does these guys think she would help me?" He sighed.

The lady simply ate and ate, making sure to open her mouth every chance she got to say unreasonable things.

Asher couldn't take it anymore. He excused himself from the table and walked outside the restaurant. As he took in a deep breath of fresh air, and walked in the direction of Lena's workplace. He noticed a little boy sitting on the sidewalk with a sketchbook in his lap.

Intrigued, Asher walked over to the boy and asked, "What are you drawing?"

The little boy looked up and smiled, "Just some doodles."

Asher looked closer and saw that the boy was quite talented. "Wow, these are really good. You're quite the artist."

The boy blushed, "Thank you."

"What's your name?" Asher asked.

"I'm Kevin," the boy said.

"How old are you, Kevin?"

"I will be seven in two weeks." Kevin replied boldly

Asher couldn't help but feel drawn to the young boy. Before he could ask anymore question, the boy's name was shouted from behind. It was a woman's voice, one that Asher's ears was getting quite accustomed to.

"I'm here mummy." Kevin replied, running back towards his mother.

"Mummy?" Asher muttered confused.

"You have a child?!" He voiced out.
