Chapter 42

"Woah, what?" I ask my dad.

"Justin's your half brother, not your step brother." He answers.

I take a moment to process.

"So you cheated on mom during the entire marriage?!" I ask yelling a little.

"Chelsea, it's not like that."

"Then explain it to me." I say rudely. "But nothing you say is going to change how I feel right now. I can't even believe one word that comes out of your mouth right now."

"This is why I stayed with her. I knew you'd be mad at me."

"Does mom know?"

"No." He says.

"Wow." I say standing up and walking out.

"Chelsea, wait." Dad calls after me.

"Save it. I'm done."

Ross follows me out and we walk back to the lobby.

Justin and my mom are sitting next to each other talking.

"How is he?" Mom asks.

"He's going to be fine." I answer.

"That's good."

"Did he say why he got back together with my mom?" Justin asks.

"You're never going to believe this." I begin. "He was with your mom longer than we all thought he was; you're his biological son."

My mom exhales and starts to cry.

"So the whole thing was a lie?" She cries.

Justin sits there in shock.

"So my dad wasn't actually my dad?" Justin asks trying to process everything. "I can't believe she lied to me my whole life."

"I can't believe I was lied too either." I say. "I really don't want to be here anymore, let's go."

We leave the hospital and head to my grandmas house. She said that we could stay with her until things got better.

When we got there, we explained everything to her. She was just as shocked as we were.

It was about 7 at night by the time we were done explaining everything. Since no one wanted to be here any longer, we decided we wanted to go back to Cali tomorrow morning. So we figured out who was sleeping where, and went to bed.

When we arrived back in Cali, Rydel and Ellington were waiting for us.

"How is he?" Rydel asks me.

"Fine. But I can't trust him anymore and I really don't want to talk about it right now." I tell her trying not to sound rude.

We go back to my house, and Justin goes back to his.

"I'll talk to you and band practice tomorrow. I just want to be by myself for a while." He tells me before he leaves.

"It's okay, I understand." I say.

I go with Ross to his house. I figured my mom would want some time alone. After all, she did just find out that her relationship with my dad was a lie basically the whole time.

"So what do you want to do?" Ross asks me.

"Can we go hang out by the pool?"

"Yeah."

I grab my bathing suit that I left there the other day, and go in the bathroom and change.

When I'm done, I meet Ross in the backyard.

I sit down at the edge of the pool and put my feet in the water. Ross comes and sits down next to me, doing the same thing.

"Are you okay?" He asks me. "You've been through a lot the last couple days."

"I don't understand how he can lie so much and not feel bad about it." I say.

Riker, Chloe, Rocky, and Alexa walk outside in their bathing suites with towels.

"Can we join you two?" Rocky asks.

"Yeah, it's fine." I answer.

Alexa comes and sits down on the other side of me.

"So are you and Rocky together now?" I ask her.

"Yeah. He asked me out on the beach the other day. I really like him." She tells me.

"You guys are cute together."

"Thanks! So are you and Ross."

"Do you know if Riker and Chloe are together?" I ask her.

"I think they are. Chloe won't stop talking about him."

"That's cute though." I say.

For the next couple hours, we talk about random stuff, and play games until Stormie comes out and tells us it's time for dinner.
