Chapter 43

Today's my 18th birthday! I can't believe it, I'm legal!

When I wake up, I have a bunch of texts from my friends and family back home. Sophie texted me a really long message about things we used to do on our birthdays and how much she misses me. We don't really talk as much as we should. I really miss her.

I go downstairs after I'm done getting ready for the day, and my mom's in the kitchen making breakfast.

"Happy birthday my little 18 year old!" She says smiling and hugging me.

"Thanks mom."

"I can't believe my baby's 18."

I smile and roll my eyes a little.

She puts the breakfast onto two plates and we sit and eat.

"So what are your plans for the day?" She asks me while we're eating.

"I'm not sure. No one's really said anything to me about making plans. I'll probably just see if the band and the Lynch's can come over." I answer.

"What, not Brandon, Savannah, and everyone else too?" Mom asks fake shocked.

I laugh.

"Well of course them too!"

"You guys have all gotten really close the last couple months, haven't you?"

"Yeah. They're all amazing. I couldn't ask for better people in my life."

Once I'm done eating, I call Justin to see if him and the rest of the guys can come over later.

"Happy birthday Chelsea!" He answers.

"Thanks." I reply.

"So how does it feel to be 18?"

"Not too different."

"So what's up?"

"Nothing much. I was wondering if you and the rest of the guys would like to come over later for cake or something for my birthday?" I ask him.

"Oh Chles; I'm so sorry, I'm teaching a guitar class tonight and the guy's are out of town for the weekend."

I get a little disappointed.

"Oh. It's okay." I say a little sad.

"We'll do something when they get back." Justin says trying to cheer me up.

"Defiantly."

"Okay well I gotta go. Have a good birthday!"

I hang up the phone and call Ross next.

"Happy birthday!" He answers.

"Thanks!" I say. "What are you guys doing today?"

"We got called into an emergency band meeting at the studio. Something about album two, it sounded important. I'm sorry."

Wow. My brother and my boyfriend. I'm off to a great birthday.

"It's okay."

"If it's not too late when we're done, maybe I'll take you out to dinner or something."

"Sounds like fun. See you then!"

Well, that's everyone besides Savannah and Alexa.

I call Savannah first.

"Hey girl! Happy 18th!" She answers.

"Thanks!" I say. "So what do you and your brother have planned today?"

"One of Brandon's friends is coming over to hang out with him, and I don't think I have any plans. Wanna go do something?"

"Yes!"

"We should go shopping." She suggests.

"Sounds great! I'll pick you up in a half hour?"

"Yeah! Call Alexa and see if her and Chloe want to come too."

"Okay! See you soon!"

After I hang up with her, I call Alexa.

Her and Chloe have class today, so they can't come with us.

I go to my room and finish getting ready, then I go pick up Savannah.

About twenty minutes later, we arrive at the mall.

"So everyone was busy today?" Sav asks me as we're walking in.

"Yep. But it's not like they could've said no to the sudden plans, it's their label, I wouldn't want them to get in trouble because of me."

We walk around the mall for a little while. We both buy a couple things and after a while, we decide to call it a day.

On the way home, Sav's phone goes off.

"It's Ryland." She says looking at her phone. "Can you drop me off at the Lynch's instead of my house?" She asks.

"Yeah that's fine. It's not like it's that far away from my house." I tell her.

"Thanks." She says as she texts him back.

We get to the Lynch's a few minutes later.

"Ryland said that he wants to tell you happy birthday in person." Savannah says laughing a little.

"Of course he does, 'cause that's Ryland." I laugh.

I get out of the car and we walk to the backyard.

I open the gate and go in first.

"Surprise!" Everyone yells.

"Oh my gosh you guys!" I say in shock.

Everyone who said they were busy or couldn't make it today was here.

"Happy birthday Chelsea." Ross says as he hugs me.

When we pull apart, I quickly kiss him.

I go around and hug everyone.

"Did you really think that everyone was busy today? We all knew it was your birthday!" Justin says.

"You guys were really convincing." I tell him.

"We're you surprised?" Rocky asked me.

"Yes!"

"Well good." Rydel says. "But there's one more surprise."

I look at her confused.

The back door opens and I turn around to see who it was.

"Oh my gosh!"
