After we were done eating, we light a fire at the fire pit.

We talk about random stuff.

"Hey, wanna go for a walk?" Ross asks me.

"Sure."

I stand up and we go down to where the water starts to flow onto the sand.

"Are you having fun?"

"Yeah. It makes me not want to go home."

"Oh?" He asks a little confused.

"I really don't like Ohio that much. Like, it's my home and all, but it's so boring and I'm too familiar with everything and I need to move and start over." I tell him.

"Well, in 2 years you'll be done with school and you can move wherever you want."

"Yeah. I really want to move here though, even more now that I've been here and I see what it's really like."

I look out into the ocean.

I feel Ross' hand graze mine and he slowly takes my hand into his, and we intertwine our fingers.

I look at him and smile.

"Is this okay?" He asks smiling a little.

"It's perfect."

We stop walking and we both look out into the water. It's so peaceful listening to the waves.

"Chelsea?"

"Yeah Ross?"

He turns to me.

"Do you wanna go out with me?"

I smile and bite my lip.

"Yes, I'd love too." I answer.

He looks back out into the ocean and smiles.

It's really dark now. We start walking again when fireworks start going off over the ocean.

Again, we stop and watch them.

"Can we sit in the sand and watch them?" I ask Ross.

"Sure."

We sit down in the sand away from the water so we don't get wet.

A few minutes into the fireworks, I see Ross looking at me from the corner of my eye.

"What?" I ask him kinda quiet.

"You're so beautiful."

I smile.

He looks at my eyes, then down at my lips, then back at my eyes and slowly leans in.

I lean in too and our lips meet.

I feel the sparks.

A few seconds later we pull back and continue to watch the fireworks.
