Chapter 2

There's 2 and a half weeks until school starts. I have mixed emotions towards that.

Today I'm going shopping for new school clothes with Sophie.

We're on our way to the mall now.

We go into almost every store. By the time we're done, we're both holding at least 25 bags. I got some jeans, shirts, a few hoodies, 3 pairs of converse, and a few random things.

"Are you excited for school?" Sophie asks me on the way home.

"I mean, kinda. I just wanna see people, I don't want to actually go back." I answer.

"Same with me."

I drop Sophie off at her house then go back home.

"Mom! I'm home!" I yell walking into the house.

"In here!" Mom yells from the living room.

I go into the living room and drop my bags when I see who's here.

"Oh my gosh! Nicole?! What are you doing here?!" I say hugging her.

Nicole is a family friend. She's 24 and lives in New York. My mom used to work for her parents when she was younger and they moved to New York before I was born, but we keep in touch and visit them every-other year.

"I had a week off work, so I decided to come visit!" She says.

"Awesome!"

I grab my bags and take them into my room, Nicole follows me.

"So how are you?" She asks me sitting on my bed.

"Pretty good. I'm kinda bummed that summer's ending, but it was an amazing summer."

"Oh yeah, you got to meet your favorite band, is that them?" She points to one of the R5 posters on my wall.

"Yep." I answer smiling.

"This one's kinda cute, what's his name?" She points to Riker.

"Riker. He's going to be 23 this year, that's only a year younger than you."

She laughs a little.

"I already have a boyfriend."

"What?! Since when?" I say excitedly.

"About 6 months now. We met online. We've met a few times. He lives in California."

"Really?!"

"Yeah; and I'm visiting him in 2 weeks and I want you to come with me."

I stand there shocked for a minute.

"Wait a minute, can you repeat that, I thought I just heard you say you wanted me to go to California with you?" I say.

"Yes. I already talked to your mom, she said it was okay."

"Oh my gosh! Thank you so much!"

"We're staying for 2 weeks." Nicole tells me.

"Awesome! I can't wait!"
