Chapter 26

The first day of school back from break was really hard, but it usually is. Sophie and I were still jet leg from being in Cali for a week.

News about Ross and I being back together go out fast. Almost the entire school knew about us already and it only happened 4 days ago.

After school when I get home, I notice that my dad's car is parked in the street. I haven't seen or talked to him since the blow-out between me and Rachael.

I open the door and I hear yelling.

"You let her date a 19 year old celebrity?! She's only 17!" My dad yells at mom.

"You have no room to talk, there's 5 years between you and the idiot you married!" Mom yells back.

I don't think they heard me walk in, so I just sit on the stairs and wait for them to be finished.

"You're just mad that I got remarried and you haven't!"

"You married her 3 months after we were divorced! No one even likes her, I don't know why you're still married to her!"

I swear they have this argument all the time.

"You don't know what you're talking about!" He yells.

"You're own daughter can't stand her! That should tell you something!"

They yell at each other for a good five minutes before dad yells something that catches my attention.

"She's still my daughter and I have a say in her life too!"

I walk into the living room.

"You have no say in what I do!" I yell at him; "you could care less about me! If you care about me so much, why did you pack up and move three and a half hours away to be with Rachael?! If you really loved me or cared about me, you would've let her leave you and moved on!"

"That was over 3 years ago, you're going to have to move past that at some point." My dad says to me with an attitude.

"You know what dad? I'm done putting up with your crap, just leave and don't try to contact me ever again, you're nothing to me." I say calmly.

I turn around and run upstairs to my room.

I grab my phone and call Ross.

"Hey!" He answers.

"I need you." I tell him as I break down and start crying.

"Babe, what's wrong?" He asks sadly.

"I just got into a fight with my dad and I told him I never wanted to talk to him again."

"I'm so sorry."

"There's nothing you could've done about it."

"I wish I could be there with you right now to help you get through this." He says.

"Just talking to you and hearing your voice is helping me."

"I really hate to leave you like this, but I have to go to rehearsal."

"It's fine. Have fun."

We hang up and I grab my book bag and start my homework.

When it was time for dinner, my mom called me downstairs.

She made hamburgers and French fries.

"So I was thinking." Mom says as we sit down at the table to eat; "how would you feel about moving to California after tour's done?"

My face lights up.

"Are you serious?!"

"While you and Sophie were hanging out with the Lynch's and stuff, I was looking around the area that they live in for a house, and I saw one that was perfect. So I placed an offer on it and bought it!"

"So we're moving to Cali?!"

"We're moving to Cali!"
