I didn't really have time to talk to Chris between the wedding and the reception because I was taking pictures and getting everything done for the reception.

Once the reception was underway and food was served, I started making my rounds to the tables seeing everyone. I was looking for Chris since I didn't know where he would be. As I was about to go see an aunt and uncle that came to the wedding someone was grabbing my hand and pulling me to the dance floor. They spun me and then pulled me flush against them. I was laughing as I spun and then stopped when I saw it was Chris.

"Geneva..." Chris said as we started swaying to the music.

"Chris..." I said and he smiled.

"You left me before I could get your number." Chris said.

"So, you crash my brother's wedding?" I asked with a small laugh and Chris laughed shaking his head.

"I didn't, he invited me. Once you ran out and left me, he gave me your number but then invited me to come here and I thought instead of calling you I would just show up." Chris explained and I shook my head.

"What about your plans this weekend?" I asked.

"The cookout is tomorrow." Chris said and I smiled.

"Wow...I'm sorry I ran out on you. I couldn't be late to work." I said as the song we were dancing to ended but another slow on started so we just continued to dance together.

"What do you do?" Chris asked.

"Night nurse at a nursing home." I said and Chris smiled.

"Respectable job." Chris said and I nodded with a smile. He pulled me closer to him which I didn't think was possible and I wrapped my arms around his neck as his wrapped around my waist. "You look beautiful Geneva." Chris said and I blushed and looked down. "Don't do that. Don't look away from me." Chris said and I looked up at him.

"Thank you for coming tonight and surprising me." I said.

"I wouldn't have missed it for the world. I mean a wedding at the aquarium. This is amazing." Chris said as we were holding the reception in front of the big tank full of fish and everything was perfect. "Can I ask why the aquarium?" Chris asked and I laughed.

"Their first date was here. Then they just kept coming back when it was something to do. Also, Britney is a marine biologist and works here. They knew it was where they had to go married." I said and Chris smiled.

"And Kiss the Girl?" Chris said and I laughed.

"A funny story actually -..." I started to say. Before I could answer someone was walking up to us and I sighed seeing who it was.

"May I please cut in and dance with my daughter?" He asked and I groaned. Chris nodded and my dad took his place.

"You look lovely Geneva." He said and I just half nodded.

"Can you try to act like you want to be here with me?" Jackson, my father asked.

"I don't know why you are even here. I told Gary not to invite you." I said.

"Well, he obviously didn't listen. He invited me, I'm here and I wanted to see the two of you." Jackson said and I groaned.

"Right...where's the new family?" I asked.

"They're here. Over at the table. You should come say hi to your stepmother and the kids." Jackson said and I just looked down and shook my head.

"No." I said and Jackson groaned.

"When are you going to get over it Eva? It's been enough time." Jackson asked and I sighed.

"Dad listen, if you had left mom, Gary and I and just stayed alone forever because you said kids were hard, I wouldn't hate you as much. The fact that you left mom with Gary and I as babies and then was married 4 years later popping out 2 more kids with her. Did Gary and I even matter?" I asked.

"Of course, you did, and you still do. Gary and I talked and have had coffee together before. I would love to do the same with you. It's been 30 years Eva..." Jackson said, and I sighed.

The song we were dancing to ended and I looked at the floor when I broke our hold.

"Can I think about it?" I asked and he nodded.

"Of course, you can. Now will you come say hi to the family?" Jackson asked and I shook my head.

"Don't force me to dad." I said and he half nodded. He leaned in and kissed my cheek and walked past Gary and Britney. I glared at Gary. He lied to me and said he hadn't seen our dad at all but yet he had been. I walked off the dance floor and over to the bar.

"Shot of tequila please." I said and the bartender looked at me giving me a nod and I just looked at him.

"That's pretty strong." I heard a voice beside me, and I groaned, I looked and saw Chris.

"Well, when you find out your brother has been lying to you and your father wants to meet up and you go to see the family he left you, your brother and your mother to have it's kind of hard and you need something strong to dull the pain." I ranted. Chris sighed and walked closer to me. The shot was sat down in front of me with a saltshaker and a lime wedge. I put salt on my hand and licked it off, took the shot and went looking for the wedge and Chris was holding it. I smiled as he held it up and I took it from him with my teeth and he smiled as I did.

"Better?" Chris asked and I nodded. I looked back at the bartender.

"Club soda please." I said and he smiled getting me the drink and Chris smiled.

"Only one drink?" Chris asked and I nodded.

"I need to keep a level head tonight." I said and Chris smiled.

"Any particular reason?" Chris asked moving slightly closer to me and I sighed looking up into his blue eyes that I could easily melt into.

"I can think of a few." I said and Chris smiled. He leaned down, I felt his lips and beard skim my cheek and fluttered my eyes closed.

"You want to come and walk the tunnel with me?" Chris whispered in my ear, and I nodded. He took my hand, and we headed out of the reception area and walked through the aquarium to the underwater tunnel. As we walked through looking Chris kept looking at me and I would smile at him.

"So, I was thinking..." Chris said, and I looked at him.

"About?" I asked.

"Tomorrow...I want you to come to the cookout." Chris said and I looked at him in shock.

"Really?" I asked and he nodded.

"I have your number, I will text you the address. Come and hang out." Chris said and I got nervous.

"Chris...I don't know..." I said and he stopped us walking, faced me and took both my hands in his.

"Geneva, please come tomorrow. I want you to see my world since I have seen yours." Chris said and I smiled and slightly shook my head.

"Send me the address and I'll see if I can make it." I said and Chris smiled and leaned in kissing my cheek. We continued to walk the tunnel then headed back to the reception.
