I woke up the next morning with a pounding headache. The bottle of vodka on the nightstand half drank. Dodger was beside me in the bed on Chris's side of the bed and I groaned seeing the sun coming through the windows.

"Come on buddy, let's go make some very strong coffee." I said and he barked jumping out of bed. "Hey shush, none of that." I said. I got out of bed, and we walked to the kitchen. I let Dodger outside and then headed to the coffee pot and started the morning coffee. I looked at the time and knew Chris was going to be on tv on Good Morning America any minute and sighed. I walked into the living room and turned on the tv so I could hear it play.

After about 10 minutes Britney and Gary came walking down.

"Good morning sunshine." Gary said and I covered my ears since he spoke too loudly.

"SHHHHH!" I growled and he walked over, kissed my cheek and then grabbed a coffee mug for him and Britney.

"How much of the bottle is drank?" Britney asked, at least she was being quiet.

"Half the bottle. Biggest mistake of my life." I said and she smiled as Gary shook his head as I poured us all cups of coffee. We all walked back into the living to sit and wait to see Chris on tv. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and turned it back on. I had tons of missed calls from unknown numbers and a few texts from family.

DAD: Cecilia showed me the pictures. What is going on Geneva?!

MOM: I heard about what happened...lost him to the ex...I knew he was too good to be true.

"Well, our parents have no faith in Chris..." I said and showed Gary and he rolled his eyes.

UNKNOWN: Hey, it's Scott, Chris's brother. I got your number from Chris, he asked me to text and see if you would answer anything from me. How are you holding up?

I just rolled my eyes. Chris giving his family that I haven't even really met my phone number to text and check on me. I put Scott's number in my phone and texted him back.

GENEVA: Thanks for checking on me Scott. I'm fine, I have my brother and sister-in-law here with me. We are getting ready to watch Chris on GMA.

I didn't get an answer back which was fine but then I saw plenty of texts from Chris.

CHRIS: I'm so sorry Geneva
Please believe I didn't plan on it to be like this.
I know you hate me.
I know I have a lot to explain.
Please just let me call you.

I sighed seeing he wanted to explain things, not sure if I wanted to hear them. I pulled up a text to Chris.

GENEVA: I'm awake, hung over and drinking coffee getting ready to watch you on tv. If you want to call, feel free but if your ex requires your attention first please help her out first.

Gary saw me hit send and groaned.

"You're not helping this situation." Gary said and I just shrugged. I put my phone on the coffee table when I saw Chris come up on the tv screen.

We watched the interview and even though Chris was smiling and getting through the interview his eyes looked slightly glossy and red-rimmed.

"Does he look like he has been crying?" Britney asked and I just shrugged.

"Geneva...he looks very upset." Gary said and I just shrugged again. "You're so fucking stubborn." Gary mumbled. I just glared at him. I saw Chris share a clip from Ghosted and then the conversation switched to Dodger, and I smiled at the dog laying at my feet when Chris said his name he perked up and barked.

"Buddy..." I said and started rubbing my head.

Once the interview was over, it was no more than 5 minutes that my cellphone was ringing with a facetime call. I sighed and got up taking the phone call into the bedroom. Once inside I answered and sat on the foot of the bed.

"Hey." I said and Chris looked at me.

"Oh baby...I have so much I want to say to you..." Chris said, and I sighed and ran a hand over my face.

"Chris, I don't want excuses on your behavior, and I really don't want to get into this over the phone or over facetime. This is something we need to deal with face to face." I said and he nodded.

"I agree." Chris said.

"So when will you be home?" I asked.

"Tomorrow morning." Chris said and I just gave a small nod.

"Fine tomorrow morning we talk." I said and he nodded.

"So, you'll be there? At my house still?" Chris asked and I looked at him oddly. "Oh, come on don't act dumb Geneva, you know you have thought about leaving and going to your place." Chris added.

"It doesn't matter because I can't go home. Because of your stint I have reporters camped out at my place wanting a statement. Neighbor sent me picture this morning." I said and he growled.

"What do we do Geneva?" Chris asked.

"Have a time machine and get you to make smarter decisions last night. Since those don't exist, I guess you and I deal with the shit storm you started." I said and Chris just looked down and half nodded.

"Fine, I will see you tomorrow morning." Chris said and I nodded. We were both silent for a minute and he looked at me.

"Eva...how much did you drink last night?" Chris asked.

"Enough, too much...somewhere in between that. I had a lot of pain to numb."

"Chris. We have to go." I heard Megan say and he groaned.

"Go be the amazing Chris Evans...see you tomorrow. I will be at your place, don't worry." I said and hung up.

Once we hung up, I laid on the bed and just cried. Not once did he even say he was sorry. I know we said we would talk tomorrow but he could have apologized, he could have said he was sorry. I got nothing from him. Would I get anything from him?
