It as the night after my date with Chris and I was at work. It was dinner time soi was taking food trays around to the rooms to the patients with another nurse.
"So, what did you two do?" Bella asked and I smiled. She was the only one I had told about Chris because I knew she wouldn't blab about it to anyone.
"We went on a food crawl date around Boston Common. We started with drinks and apps at Cheers, then went to Florina and the Shake Shack. Then to get back to the car we walked through the park." I said and she smiled as we stopped to deliver some trays of food.
"That's pretty public. Wasn't he worried about being seen?" Bella asked and I shrugged.
"He didn't seem to be. I mean I knew the waitress at the bar noticed but he didn't care." I said and she smiled.
"So, you had fun?"
"I did." I smiled.
"When will you see him again?" Bella asked and I shrugged.
"He is supposed to text me tonight on my lunch break. I told him it would be like at 2am but he said he would set an alarm to wake up and talk to talk to me." I said and Bella made a cutesy noise. I smiled at her.
"You just seem so happy." Bella said.
"I am happy." I said as we went to finish delivering the last of the food trays. Once we were done, I went to do some charting while sitting at the nurse's station. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket and I pulled it out.
CHRIS: I know you said we would talk on your lunch break, but I just wanted to check on you and say hi.
I smiled seeing this and just shook my head.
GENEVA: Well, that is sweet of you and only talk to me if you want. Please don't wake up specially just for me Chris.
CHRIS: I will set my alarm in case I fall asleep, but I make no promises.
GENEVA: Well, I will text you to make sure you're awake when I got to lunch.
CHRIS: Sounds like a plan.
I saw my boss come walking down the hallway so I put my phone away.
"Geneva..." She said and I looked up at her.
"Yes?" I asked.
"Margie was asking for you to come down and help her." Nancy said and I just looked to make sure the call light wasn't one.
"She didn't hit the button..." I said.
"No, I was passing, and she asked me to get you. Her granddaughter is visiting, and I think she wants to introduce you." Nancy said and I smiled and got up.
"Alright, I'm on my way down there." I said and went to leave the nurses station as my phone started going off in my pocket again. I pulled it out and saw it was Chris.
CHRIS: I need to talk to you now!
GENEVA: I'm busy, I'm having to go visit a patient's family.
CHRIS: GENEVA PLEASE
I rolled my eyes, not sure what the problem was but it couldn't be that bad. I put my phone back in my pocket and I got to Margie's room. I knocked on the door since it was semi closed.
"Eva?" Margie called out and I opened the door.
"Hey, you wanted to see me?" I asked and she smiled.
"I wanted to introduce you to my daughter and my granddaughter. This is Mary my daughter and Abby my granddaughter. I smiled at both of them.
"Nice to meet you both." I said. I noticed the granddaughter who was maybe in her 20's looking at me and then back at her phone scrolling quickly. I thought it was weird.
"Eva is like my granddaughter when you guys aren't in town. She takes amazingly good care of me." Margie said and I smiled.
"I do what I can, I can see you aren't eating your dinner though. What's wrong with it?" I asked and she groaned.
"It's gross." Margie simply stated and I smiled slightly shaking my head.
"And we brought her a home-cooked meal. Was that okay?" Mary asked and I nodded.
"Of course, she isn't on any restrictions." I said and Mary nodded.
"I KNEW YOU LOOK FAMILIAR!" Abby then yelled and looked at me. I felt my phone going off in my pocket again.
"I'm sorry?" I asked confused.
"Remember how I was telling you both that Chris Evans was out with a new girl last night so soon after the other relationship?!" Abby said and I felt the color drain from my face.
"Abby..." Mary said.
"No! Look! It's her! A normal girl!" Abby said.
Before I could say anything, Nancy came walking in the room.
"There is a call for you in the office. Says it's urgent." She said and I nodded.
"Margie, I have to take the call." I said and quickly left the room, rushing down to the office and closing the door. I picked up the phone.

"We need to talk, in person." Chris said dryly.
Yep, this was all over, before it could even get started...I needed to be used to this from this man.
