It was the night after karaoke, and we knew we were getting ready to go back to Boston the next afternoon. I was sitting in the living room reading a book when Chris came up behind me where I was relaxing on the couch and pulled the book from my hands.
"Hey!" I said and leaning my head back to look at him. He leaned down and passionately kissed me. Once we broke apart, I tried to get my book back from him and he held it out of my reach.
"You can have this back tomorrow on the plane. We have plans right now." Chris said and I sighed.
"Chris, I love you, but I really don't want to go out tonight." I said and he smiled.
"I laid clothes out for you on the bed, put everything I laid out for you on and then meet me outside." Chris said and I sighed but nodded. I walked into the bedroom and saw the bathing suit Chris told me to pack lying on the bed with a white sundress. I smiled as I got changed into the two-piece bathing suit and then I put the dress overtop of it. I slipped on my white flip flops from the room and walked out to the backyard to see tiki torches lit all around and a table set up with Chinese take-out with candles on the table and I smiled at Chris. He was standing there in a white t-shirt and a pair of swimming trunks.
"What is this?!" I asked excitedly and Chris smiled.
"A nice romantic dinner in for two. Along with after dinner a relaxing time in the hot tub with my girlfriend under the moonlight." Chris said and I smiled at him.
"That sounds amazing." I said and he smiled with a nod as he walked me to the table and then pulled my chair out for me. I sat down and Chris sat across from me. We started dishing out food and Chris sighed.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Did you enjoy your trip?" Chris asked and I nodded.
"I did, it was great Chris." I said and he smiled.
"I hate to bring this up but probably in about a month or so I will have to travel to Hawaii to work on some reshoots and scenes for another movie coming out this Christmas..." Chris said, and I half nodded.
"Chris, I don't always have to go with you. I trust you...you have to work." I said and she sighed shaking his head.
"I want you to come with me. After I work maybe we can stay a little longer and we can have a small vacation. A Hawaiian get away." Chris said and I sighed with a smile.
"Chris, whatever you want, honestly. I told you before I'm not here for the trips, fancy things, none of it. Paper rings remember?" I said and he smiled.
"I know, I'm sorry I'm really not meaning to throw all of this in your face or anything I just want to share moments with you." Chris said and I smiled. I got up from my chair and walked over to him, sitting in his lap. His arms went around my waist to hold on to me as mine went around his neck.
"Moments like this Chris...here...dinner at home. This is what I want. This is what means so much to me. This was what I love. The other things, coming to LA, going to Hawaii...that's not important." I said and he leaned in and kissed me.
"I love you." Chris said.
"I love you." I said as I leaned my forehead against his.
"Come to Hawaii with me." Chris whispered and I laughed lifting my head from his and laughing.
"I'll think about it okay?" I asked and he nodded and smiled.
"I'll accept that answer...for now." Chris said and I smiled as he gently smacked my butt.
"Now let's eat dinner. I want to get you in the hot tub." Chris said and I smiled as I gave him a small kiss and walked over to my hair and we started eating. Once we were done eating we cleaned up the trash and took the dishes in the house, rinsing them off and putting them in the dishwasher.
