Chris and I left the bar, and we headed down the street, just walking but in silence.

"Chris, you made the grand gesture, you asked for me to leave and go for a walk and talk..." I said and he sighed.

"I know, I just am trying to get the words in my head right, so I don't say something stupid." Chris said and we both laughed.

"Chris, you have said enough stupid stuff to me recently I think you can quickly figure it out." I said and laughed.

"Well first of all I'm sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I know I didn't give you much confidence." Chris said and I half nodded.

"I just wanted to know you were still interested but when I didn't hear from you since the coffee outing, I figured you were just deciding to move on. The only problem was I was slightly hooked on you Chris. I didn't want to be, not that fast at least." I said.

"I know and it was my fault. I mean I came to your brother's wedding, I invited you over to my place to the cookout. I lead you on thinking you would be okay with just being friends at first, but I slowly realized I was getting feelings for you. I thought it was too fast, I didn't want to be rushed into something when I didn't know what it was really. I wanted to take my time." Chris said and I sighed with a nod.

"Chris, we can take our time. I'm in no rush, trust me. You want to try and be friends first, we can be friends and see where it goes. I'm not exactly pushing any agenda here." I said and Chris smiled at me as we stopped outside an ice cream shop.

"You want to get some and go walk the park?" Chris asked and I nodded with a smile.

"Yeah, that sounds like a good time." I said and Chris smiled as we walked up to the order window, and both got some ice cream.

We walked a little further down and went in the park entrance, and we just started walking.

"So, anything new happen since we haven't been talking recently?" Chris asked and I huffed a laugh.

"Well, I had dinner with my dad." I said and Chris looked at me in shock.

"How did that go?" Chris asked and I sighed.

"Well, I found out some truths about him and my mom and what really happened. Mom never talked about it, and he told me his side at least. I haven't decided if I want to ask my mom for her side." I said and Chris sighed.

"Do you believe your dad?" Chris asked and I half nodded.

"Yeah, I mean he would really have no reason to lie. I just think I will take what he said and let it just be what it is and try to have a relationship again." I said and Chris smiled.

"That's great Geneva. My parents are divorced and honestly, it's easier to just keep a calm head about everything that has happened. I was upset with my dad for a while, but I moved on and realized my mom was happier when they split and maybe it was easier for them." Chris said and I half nodded.

"Yeah, it seems mom and dad were happier apart." I said and Chris half nodded. We were silent for a minute and a questioned popped into my head. "Why were you sitting with my mom at the wedding?" I asked and Chris huffed a laugh.

"Well, that came out of nowhere." Chris said and I laughed.

"Sorry, my dad asked at dinner, and it popped in my head." I said and he laughed.

"Well, when I showed up your brother asked me to escort your mom in and then asked if I could sit with her, so I wasn't bombarded by people." Chris said and I nodded.

"Make sense." I said and Chris half nodded.

We were silent for another minute and Chris looked at me and tried to hide a laugh.

"What?" I asked.

"You just have some ice cream on your chin." Chris said and he stopped walking. He lifted his hand and gently whipped it off with his thumb. He left his fingers holding on gently.

"Chris...?" I asked in almost a whisper.

"I don't want to be friends with you Geneva. I want to give this a shot, you and me, together." Chris said and I smiled.

"I don't want to rush you, Chris." I said and he shook his head.

"You're not, this is what I want." Chris said. I smiled at him.

"Are you asking me to officially be your girlfriend Evans?" I asked and he smiled with a nod. Fingers still holding my chin.

"I'm asking you to be my girlfriend, Eva." Chris aid and I smiled at him biting my lower lip.

"I accept." I said and Chris chuckled shaking his head. He leaned down and gently placed his lips on mine and I sighed in the kiss. Once we broke apart, he was smiling at me as I opened my eyes. We just smiled at each other, and he took my hand that wasn't holding my ice cream and we continued to walk through the park. We soon turned around and headed back to the bar so I could get my car.

I went inside to get my stuff from the office and then stopped and saw Gary.

"You two okay?" Gary asked and I nodded.

"Yeah, perfect." I said and winked at my brother as Chris came up to me from walking to his friends.

"I'll walk you out." Chris said and I nodded.

"Make sure she is safe Chris." Gary said and we laughed.

"Always." Chris said.

We walked to my car holding hands and Chris took my guitar from me and was carrying it. Once we got to the car I walked and put it on the passenger side. Then I walked around to the drivers side and Chris was standing there with me.

"You have any plans tomorrow?" Chris asked and I shook my head.

"Nope, off work again." I said and Chris smiled.

"Well, I would like to plan something for us to do tomorrow night. Are you okay with surprises?" Chris asked.

"I mean...depends on the surprises. I mean I think i can handle them pretty well." I said and he smiled.

"Perfect so send me your address, I'll figure everything out and get a time I want to pick you up." Chris asked and I nodded with a smile.

"Sounds perfect. I'll text you my address when I get home." I said and Chris smiled with a nod. He then leaned in again and placed a short kiss to my lips. I smiled when we broke apart.

"Good night, Evans." I said and he smiled.

"Good night, Geneva." Chris said and I got in my car and gave a small wave as Chris stood there and I drove off trying to calm my racing heart.
