We walked to my mother's house Sunday early afternoon for a brunch with her. I groaned getting out of the car and we walked to the door.
"You know it wont be as bad as your making it out to be." Chris said and I groaned.
"You don't know my mother." I said and he just took my hand and kissed my knuckles. I got up to the door and just walked in.
"Mom?!" I called out. She came rushing to the door.
"You didn't knock!" She said and I just looked at her.
"No...I used my key. I didn't think I would need to knock." I said and she sighed.
"It would be courteous." She said and I groaned.
"Mom, you remember Chris." I said changing the subject. She just glared at him.
"I can't believe you forgave him..." Iris said and walked away. I looked at Chris.
"It's fine." Chris whispered as we walked in. When I walked around the corner to the living room I was stopped in my tracks.
"Dad?!" I said in shock.
"Your father and I actually agreed that we should both be here this morning." Iris said.
"What is this, like an intervention?" I asked.
"Not an intervention we both just want an explanation of New York and why you are still with Chris." Jackson said.
"This had got to stop. Chris and I are still together because it was a set up." I said.
"So he says." Iris said.
"So my manager says." Chris said and they all looked at him.
"Look I'm willing to sit and explain everything to you both but you need to open your minds and get the idea of him being guilty out of your head." I said and they sighed but nodded. We all walked to the dining room, and I pulled out my phone subtly.
GENEVA: Brunch with mom is weird, dad is here too.
I got an answer fairly quickly.
GARY: Well hell must have frozen over.
GENEVA: No, my boyfriend had a horrible thing happen to him and now they want to grill him on it.
GARY: Good luck.
I sighed and put my phone away as we all sat down to eat. We all sat down and started dishing out food.
"It all looks great mom." I said and she smiled.
"It really does Misses Collins." Chris said.
"Chris please call me Iris, I don't like being formal that much." She said and Chris gave a small smile.
"Can you explain to us what happened in New York?" Jackson asked and I sighed as I poured me a mimosa that was in a pitcher.
"New York was one big mistake and trust me I got home as soon as I could due to previous requirements to make it right. The girl should have been removed from the approved guest list but somehow and my manager isn't sure how, she was left on the list and showed up. I didn't know and no one on my team did. She shocked all of us, even co-stars by showing up. The posed pictures were set up by her. To save all faces involved we just went along with it but what no one saw was what happened behind closed doors when I lost it on all parties involved." Chris said. Both my parents looked at each other. "I want you both to know I love your daughter very much and it was never my intention to ever hurt her. I want a future with Geneva and a future means never hurting her or making her not trust me." Chris said and I looked at him shocked.
