"𝖍𝖊𝖞 𝖓/𝖓 𝖜𝖍𝖊𝖗𝖊 𝖆𝖗𝖊 𝖞𝖔𝖚?"

it was steve, he sounded frustrated.

"um i just grabbed juno from school why?"

he sighed heavily on the other line and i could hear voices behind him. "you ignored your phone all day again." i pursed my lips, he wasn't wrong i just needed a day away from everything besides i didn't think i would be needed for anything today. "i wouldn't say ignored...maybe just put it on silent." i could practically feel his disapproving stare through the phone already making me nervous. "get to the compound quick something just happened." he spoke sternly as i pressed my foot down on the gas a little harder.

"yep, i'm on the way."

i could hear the arguing from the front door. juno took my hand nervously, something she tended to do when people bickered. "what's happening?" she asked timidly as we neared the group. "i don't know..." we turned the corner to find find the entire avengers team either bickering or wishing it to end.

"uhhh i'm guessing i missed something important?" i waved awkwardly as juno released my hand and ran to natasha automatically giving her a hug. "well look who's alive," tony's hand slid down his face to look over at me. "i had...things to do today." i shrugged sitting down in the chair nearest to steve. he held a thick book in his hands labeled 'the sokovia accords' he did not look happy as he read it. "i'm guessing that's what i missed?" i pointed to the book in his hands as he dropped it in his lap with a huff.

natasha rose from her chair and took juno to the kitchen for a snack but she was still in earshot. "secretary ross just dropped by with it. basically, it puts us where we report to the united nations to 'control and regulate the activities of enhanced individuals,' " sam mocked the secretary of state's words with air quotes. rhodey slapped his arm, " secretary ross has a congressional medal of honor which is one more than you have." i rolled my eyes leaning over steve's shoulder to read the page he was on. from what i had just heard i wasn't much of a fan either. "alright so let's say we agree to this. how long is it gonna be before they low-jack us like a bunch of common  criminals?" sam was annoyed and it was very obvious, he was new to the team just as i was.

"wait so what happens if we don't sign again?" i whispered to steve quietly, resting my cheek on his shoulder. i was exhausted just listening to this. "we retire." he whispered back as sam and rhodey continued to go at each other behind us. steve saw my eyes widen and nodded understandingly at my confusion. "my point exactly."

"i have an equation." vision spoke up fo the first time since i arrived, he glanced around the room as if asking if he could continue, " in the eight years since mr. stark announced himself as ironman the number of known enhanced persons has grown exponentially.  during the same period, the number of potentially world-ending events has risen at a commencing rate. i'm saying, there may be a causality, our very strength invites challenge, challenge insights conflict, and conflict breeds catastrophe. oversight, oversight is not an idea that can be dismissed out of hand."
