𝖆 𝖙𝖜𝖔-𝖜𝖊𝖊𝖐 𝖙𝖗𝖎𝖕 𝖙𝖔 𝖊𝖚𝖗𝖔𝖕𝖊 𝖘𝖔𝖚𝖓𝖉𝖘 𝖈𝖔𝖔𝖑 𝖎𝖓 𝖙𝖍𝖊𝖔𝖗𝖞 𝖇𝖚𝖙 𝖍𝖊𝖑𝖕𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝖆 𝖙𝖊𝖊𝖓𝖆𝖌𝖊 𝖌𝖎𝖗𝖑 𝖕𝖆𝖈𝖐 𝖋𝖔𝖗 𝖔𝖓𝖊 𝖎𝖘 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖊𝖝𝖆𝖈𝖙 𝖔𝖕𝖕𝖔𝖘𝖎𝖙𝖊. i had offered to chaperone the trip but juno had practically forced me to stay home. she had also made me swear that i wouldn't also stalk the trip to make sure both her and peter were doing alright over there. so that meant no news stations, teleporting, or spells to watch over her. i wasn't happy about it in the slightest.

she had also invited shuri over to help her pack since she wouldn't be able to see her during those two weeks. the two had finally made it official a month and a half ago much to my delight because the very obvious and very awkward flirting was getting to be too much for t'challa and i. needless to say the two were inseparable, hence why the packing was so god damn chaotic. with shuri being the princess of wakanda okoye tagged along with her here. the dora milaje general sat beside me just as unamused as i was with the dramatic mess the girls had made throughout the apartment. the closest thing i was allowed to help with was deciding whether or not the outfits she was bringing were good or not. shuri would help her put them together and for some reason, i was the final verdict. so now that there were mounds of clothes thrown around the apartment she finally had her suitcases packed and ready for tomorrow.

i seriously don't know where she got all of the energy from after the homeless support banquet she had to go to with peter last night. the two went to support may as spiderman and the jinx to get the event more publicity and it worked well. i am excited for her to catch a break on this trip though and be a normal kid for once. she could have fun with her little group of friends over in europe and not have to worry about hero things for a change. she had said she was going to be helping peter ask mj out while they were over there which i know is going to be an entertaining thing to see. she also said it's gonna be hard for her not to blow all the money she has on food and stupid souvenirs. i'm preparing myself for the empty wallet she's gonna bring back home.

while she's away i have no idea what the hell i'm going to do. bucky had suggested letting the nypd actually do their jobs and i take the time away. i knew he just wanted me away from all of the hero things around here. after sam was officially named captain america and i had helped save a van full of important politicians the media started liking me again. it's probably the first time since before the avengers split that i've heard a good word about me on a news station. i had to admit bucky's suggestion was appealing.

the next morning we all piled in my car just as the sun was coming over the city. okoye sat in the passenger seat gripping her folded spear tightly as the girls shoved the suitcases in the trunk before piling into the backseat. they fell asleep on the way there leaning on each other's shoulders. i caught the small smile on okoye's lips at the sight of shuri's happiness. "you know you don't have to come every time shuri and juno hang out right?" i spoke quietly amongst the noise of the car to the general beside me. her displeasure with coming to new york with the princess was obvious every time she stepped through the portals juno made for them. i knew it had nothing to do with us in general she just preferred to be in wakanda than the states and i couldn't blame her for that in the slightest. "i am sworn to protect the crown, you know that." she knew that in my time in wakanda i became very familiar with their customs very quickly. they would give their lives to protect the whole royal family without question. "i know," i shrugged my shoulders lightly, " i just figured it would save you from coming here every week is all." a rare chuckle left okoye lips as she looked over her shoulder at the two girls again. "i may not like this country but your child holds the heart of our princess in her hands. that is enough to make me come."

we arrived at the airport 15 minutes early which was a surprise with all of the traffic. the airport was crowded as usual but thankfully the students of midtown high were meeting outside so we didn't have to weave our way through the people inside. i got her luggage out of the trunk as juno said goodbye to shuri. i caught a glimpse of shuri wrapping a bracelet around juno's wrist that looked similar to her kimoyo beads. juno grinned at it widely before engulfing the princess in a hug. i caught sight of may and peter nearing the group of midtown students who were at the door with their two teachers. peter had apparently felt my eyes on him because he had whipped around to see us all around my car and was across the parking lot in a split second. i was engulfed in a hug from him the second he crossed the small road making me laugh. i wrapped my arms around the boy as well giving him a small squeeze. "well hello to you too pete." i ruffled his hair a bit when he detached from me as he swatted my hands away. "aw come on y/n i just got it looking right!" i laughed again as he tried fixing it without avail. "aw trying to impress mj on the flight too?"

juno whipped around at my words with wide eyes looking between peter and i. "you weren't supposed to tell her the plan juno!" peter looked at the girl with a dumbfounded expression but she only giggled lightly. "aw come on it was too funny not to tell." shuri added only making peter groan. "i'm never gonna tell you anything again." peter was joking obviously behind the bright blush that painted his cheeks. juno detached from shuri's side to poke peter's cheeks playfully. "aw just think pete the plan is gonna go perfectly! mj is gonna be swept off her feet when you get everything done. did you get the duel headset to watch movies and stuff?"peter nodded before pulling the headphones out of his pocket. it was really cute i had to admit. a little cringey maybe but cute overall.

"kids come on!" may shouted over to us waving towards the teachers who were checking everyone in. peter sent her a thumbs up back before taking one of juno's two suitcases. "be careful pete! take some pictures for me!" he nodded with a grin before hauling the suitcase across the street. two arms wrapped around me a second later and i chuckled into juno's fluffy hair. "you've got your sling ring for emergencies right?" she nodded into my neck as she squeezed me tighter. "i love you." she said with a smile as she pulled away. i kissed her forehead and adjusted the straps of her bookbag on her shoulders. "i love you too. call me when you land ok? and try to have some fun will ya."
