𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖕𝖊𝖆𝖓𝖚𝖙 𝖇𝖚𝖙𝖙𝖊𝖗 𝖘𝖆𝖓𝖉𝖜𝖎𝖈𝖍 𝖓𝖆𝖙 𝖏𝖚𝖘𝖙 𝖒𝖆𝖉𝖊 𝖒𝖊 𝖜𝖆𝖘 𝖑𝖔𝖔𝖐𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝖑𝖎𝖐𝖊 𝖆 𝖛𝖊𝖗𝖞 𝖈𝖔𝖒𝖋𝖞 𝖕𝖎𝖑𝖑𝖔𝖜 𝖆𝖙 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖒𝖔𝖒𝖊𝖓𝖙. i was sat at the desk beside her as she made herself a sandwich while we got the latest report from the others. the holograms in front of us showed nebula, rocket, okoye, carol, and rhodey. nebula had shown up here when tony did as they were on the same ship and it turned out that her and rocket were part of the guardians of the galaxy. they were now the only ones left of them. carol was the one who brought tony and nebula here after she found their ship broke down in space and she helped us track down thanos five years ago. we had all kept in touch since then so we could all be updated on what was happening even on other planets.

juno didn't have school today so she sat beside me with her chin resting on the table about as enthusiastic about this meeting as i was. i handed her one-half of my sandwich which kind of brought her back to reality. i rarely listened to the meetings as they always ended with someone making them turn really dark and that just wasn't my cup of tea. it eventually ended when nat stressed to all of them that this channel was always open and they shouldn't hesitate to call in. they all left eventually except for rhodey who was the only one other than okoye that was on earth. 

"where are you at rhodey?" i sighed leaning back in my chair as i chewed on the sandwich. he chuckled lightly as it was the first time i had spoken since the meeting started. " while i'm in mexico i guess you and juno were in la la land." juno laughed beside me as i flipped him a bird playfully. natasha lowered my hand giving me a small side eye. "what happened there?" she asked now sitting up straight. we knew rhodey had been following clint and his bloody trail around the world. he was always there to give her updates when he could.  "the federales found a room full of bodies. looks like a bunch of cartel guys, they never got the chance to get their guns out." i watched natasha stiffen beside me as rhodey spoke. "it was probably just a rival gang or something." she sighed under her breath and she looked down. she knew who it was she just hated to know what her best friend had resorted to after everything happened. "except it isn't, it was defiantly barton. what he's done here and what he's been doing for the last few years...after seeing this there's a part of me that doesn't want to find him." she was silent for a moment and i could feel juno shift beside me to look at her too. "well you need to find out where he's going next," she nodded taking a bite out of her sandwich despite the obvious tears in her eyes, "please." rhodey looked over to me as if asking if she would be alright. i nodded urging him to go which he did soon after.

she drooped the sandwich back onto her plate as her hands went to cover her face. i quickly scooted over so i could bring her into a hug which she accepted. her head rested against mine and i rubbed her shoulders to comfort her as best i could. "ya know i'd offer to cook you guys dinner but you seem pretty miserable already." steve popped up around the corner and natasha instantly tried wiping the tears from her face. "capsicle's here to get his ass beat in chess again." juno stood up from beside me and rounded the desk to give steve a hug. he gave me a wide-eyed look over the girls bushy hair and i snickered at him in response. "i think your mom's language needs to stop rubbing off on you kid." i heard him whisper to the girl as he squeezed her. the seventeen-year-old laughed into his chest before they separated.
